star this property answer text <p>Decarbonisation pathways are a commercial decision for companies. The Government is working closely with steel producers as they decide on the optimum route for their sites.</p><p> </p><p>Support for the sector includes over £780 million in electricity costs relief. The sector can also apply for over £1 billion available in competitive funding to support industry with energy efficiency and decarbonisation, including:</p><ul><li>Access to up to £66 million through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund and the £289 million Industrial Energy Transformation Fund.</li><li>Long-term work at the Materials Processing Institute.</li><li>The opportunity to bid into industrial fuel switching innovation programmes.</li><li>The Carbon Capture Usage and Storage Fund and the Net Zero Hydrogen Fund.</li></ul> more like this

Hon. Friend has prioritised engaging with my Rt. Hon. Friend Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, steel companies, local MPs and other interested parties from the steel sector. As a priority, we are now carefully considering the best way we can work together over the coming period to secure the best outcomes for our steel industry.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to working to improve health and safety, as well as mental and occupational health in the construction sector, to enable the sector to recruit and retain the workforce that it needs in future. This work is being taken forward through the Construction Leadership Council’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing Group, which brings together the Health and Safety Executive, industry representatives and trade unions to develop and circulate best practice and practical guidance for the industry.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is also aware that procurement and contractual practices in the sector can have an impact on mental health. The Government has set out its commitment to improving procurement processes, and ensure there are fair and transparent payment and contractual provisions in relation to government construction projects and programmes in the Construction Playbook.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government recognises the impact that debt and financial difficulty can have on men’s mental health and wellbeing and that men are at a higher risk of suicide.</p><p> </p><p>The National Suicide Prevention Strategy highlights groups that need tailored approaches to address their mental health needs to reduce their suicide risk, including men. Every local authority has a suicide prevention plan in place and we are investing £25 million over the next three years to support these local plans. We have worked with NHS England and Public Health England to ensure that this funding is used to test different approaches to reaching men in local communities.</p><p> </p><p>We are working with the local government sector to assess the effectiveness of those plans, and a report will be published shortly that will highlight areas of best practice and areas for improvement. This report will include an analysis of the extent to which local authority plans are addressing high risk groups.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We are aware of the rise in young people self-harming, which is why we included a new key area for action to address self-harming in the cross-government National Suicide Prevention Strategy in 2017.</p><p>Our close work with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport on its Online Harms White Paper will also help to tackle online harms associated with harmful suicide and self-harm content across the internet, including social media.</p><p>We continue to fund research into self-harming through the multi-centre study for self-harm in England, which will look at self-harming in children and young people in more detail over the next two years.</p><p>Through the NHS Long Term Plan we have also invested £249 million to ensure every emergency department has a mental health liaison team in place by 2020/21, which are well placed to treat people who present at hospital for self-harm. The Plan also commits to developing integrated models of primary and community care to support people with complex needs, including self-harming.</p><p>Investment in the Mental Health Five Year Forward View and NHS Long Term Plan will deliver timely, high-quality mental health support, including by 2023/24. By expanding services and working with schools and colleges an additional 345,000 children and young people aged 0-25 will be able to access comprehensive support.</p>
