This is funded from the Local Government settlement, which was over £12 billion last year. DCMS are currently reviewing the guidance associated with the statutory duty.</p><p>The Government recognises the vital role that youth services and activities play in improving the life chances and wellbeing of young people. The Government has committed to a National Youth Guarantee: that by 2025, every young person will have access to regular clubs and activities, adventures away from home and opportunities to volunteer. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/06/2019 answer text <p>The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and Youth Justice Board (YJB) receive regular representations from local authorities on a wide range of issues relating to the youth justice system, including in relation to grants.</p><p> </p><p>The YJB Good Practice Grant contributes directly to YOS’ statutory work - including preparing pre-sentence reports and supervising youth offenders during sentence as well as front-line work to reduce offending and re-offending by young people. It also contributes to work to prevent children offending and coming into the youth justice system in the first instance. In addition to the YJB Good Practice Grant, the YJB also offer discrete additional grants for specific projects or initiatives, for example funding for restorative justice. The YOS also receives funding from their local authority, health, probation, the police, and, where applicable, the Welsh Government.</p><p> </p><p>The YJB will be allocating a total of £72.2m in grants for 19/20, meaning that overall allocation for the front line will be greater than the previous year. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/07/2019 answer text <p>Table A attached sets out the total funding the Youth Justice Board (YJB) has given to local authorities in each year from 2009/10 to 2017/18 as published in the 2017/18 annual youth justice statistics (published totals for 2018/19 are not yet available). Table B breaks this down by local authority. The majority of this funding helps support the day-to-day business of Youth Offending Teams (YOTs), but it also includes some discrete additional grants for specific projects or initiatives, for example funding for restorative justice. The annual recorded value of the additional grants is set out in Table C.</p><p> </p><p>Due to a change in reporting processes the additional grants given in 2014/15 and 2015/16 were not included in the published totals in the 2017/18 youth justice statistics. Ministerial decisions on eligibility criteria were taken on the basis of high quality, robust and publicly available data. The eligible areas and a detailed explanation of the methodology is available on the gov.uk website <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/youth-investment-fund-yif-places-selection-methodology/youth-investment-fund-yif-places-selection-methodology" target="_blank">here</a>. Bradford is not eligible for the Youth Investment Fund.</p><p>DCMS provides funding for a range of youth programmes benefitting young people in Bradford and right across England, such as the National Citizen Service (NCS). Included in the education reform is the provision of wellbeing and exercise with flexibility of provisions. The vision for learning is expected to bring about flexibility which is tailored to the needs of children within the secure estate and we are working with our education</p><p>providers to increase the flexibility of the core day and curriculum to allow for more space, time and resources to provide young people with the activities that are tailored to their needs and offer the most positive engagement with education.</p><p> </p><p>We have also devolved additional funds to Young Offender Institutions (YOIs) governors to commission additional educational, vocational and enrichment activities that best engage and meet the needs of the children in their establishments. This amounts to £0.3m in 18/19 and £1.8m in 19/20 across the four public sector sites.</p><p> </p><p>Where available the information requested on the allocations to the requested establishments for prison libraries are provided in the attached table. Prior to 2014 all library finances were carried out locally in establishments, and are therefore not included. Data for establishments which were or are Privately Managed Prisons are not available as the cost of provision is included in the overall budget. It should also be noted that at HMYOI Feltham the library is shared across both sites and the figures provided are for full provision. They require adjudications to be conducted lawfully, fairly and justly. All prisoners have a full opportunity to hear what is alleged against them and to present their case. Children and young people in custody are some of the most vulnerable people in society and their safety and welfare is our highest priority. But there are occasions when their behaviour is so challenging and violent that it is necessary to instigate disciplinary procedures. Young or vulnerable prisoners, who may lack experience of adjudications, are encouraged to request help from an advocate.</p><p> </p><p>Only Independent Adjudicators, who are District Judges or Deputy District Judges, can, in cases deemed to be sufficiently serious, make an award of additional days. The adjudicators will follow the punishment guidelines issued by the Chief Magistrate. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/05/2023 answer text <p>Although ethnicity pay gap reporting is voluntary, we are currently considering the best way to approach ethnicity pay gap reporting in the Civil Service.
