	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/03/2024 answer text <p>Following a machinery of government in February 2023, the Department for Business, Energy &amp; Industrial Strategy and the Department for International trade were replaced by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, and the Department for Business and Trade.</p><p>As the Department for Business and Trade did not exist between September 2021 and January 2023, we are unable to provide data on payment towards the apprenticeship levy and spend of levy funds for this period.</p><p>Since the creation of the Department for Business and Trade the apprenticeship levy account has remained shared between the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, and the Department for Business and Trade. The report presented a powerful case for the benefits to business of such diversity and BEIS welcomes the recommendations of the report. BEIS has set up an action plan following the recommendations and will work with industry through the Professional &amp; Business Services Council membership and other Government Departments to support progress.</p><p> </p><p>BEIS will promote the recommendations through the Professional &amp; Business Services Council Skills and Inclusion working group. It has launched new Prosperity Partnerships, invested a further £25m in the Connecting Capability Fund, and in financial year 2021-22 supported more than 850 SME manufacturing firms with almost 150 digital transformation projects through Made Smarter Adoption.</p><p> </p><p>The UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which is delivered by local government across the UK, has the aim of building pride in place and increasing life chances. The Greater London Authority has been given £145m across the three years of the Fund.</p><p>Local authorities will decide what they wish to deliver, in line with local priorities and need.
