star this property answer text <p>The UK takes its export control responsibilities and obligations extremely seriously. We assess all export licence applications in accordance with strict licensing criteria. These criteria include prohibitions under arms embargoes and an assessment on the risk of diversion. We work closely with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on Sudan and, along with the US, issued a Sudan Quad statement on 3 November calling for the full and immediate restoration of Sudan's civilian-led transitional government following the military coup on 25 October.</p> more like this

Our shared contribution to Afghanistan over the past twenty years has ensured that a generation of women and girls received an education and enabled significant development gains. star this property answer text <p>Scientific advances have helped drive significant reductions in extreme poverty, increases in agricultural productivity, declines in childhood mortality and increases in life expectancy across the developing world.</p><p>The Covid pandemic's economic impact has forced the government to take the difficult decision to temporarily reduce ODA to 0.5% of GNI. The Foreign Secretary has set out a strategic approach to ensure maximum impact for our aid spend. This includes the use of ODA to support research to identify what development interventions are most effective, and develop and test new technologies and innovations, that can provide new solutions to critical challenges in development, such as climate change and infectious diseases.</p><p>Difficult decisions will be necessary, and we are currently running a prioritisation exercise on allocations, to ensure that every pound we spend on ODA goes as far as possible and has greatest impact.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Providing support to those in Afghanistan with valid visas to enter the UK remains an HMG priority. We have been assisting British nationals and their Afghan dependents who have the correct UK visa or Indefinite Leave to Remain/Enter, to travel out of Afghanistan including through Qatar-sponsored flights. These flights are limited and controlled by the Qatari government. Commercial flights are also operating from a number of airports in Afghanistan to regional capitals, allowing individuals to travel independently where possible.</p> more like this
