It was introduced by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to assist in the valuation of high-rise residential buildings for mortgage purposes. Use of the EWS1 form is determined by the lending policies of banks and building societies. Further information on the rights of leaseholders and other leasehold matters can be provided through the website (https://www.lease-advice.org/), via a telephone appointment with one of LEASE's advisers (020 7832 2500), or by email (info@lease-advice.org).</p><p>There are other specialist advisers who leaseholders might want to consult including:</p><ul><li><a title="https://www.leaseholdknowledge.com/" href="https://www.leaseholdknowledge.com/" target="_blank">Leasehold Knowledge Partnership</a> (LKP) – an independent registered charity providing help for leaseholders on leasehold issues, including cladding. The Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 (as amended by the Health Protection Act 2008), (b) Public Health etc. (Scotland) Act 2008 and (c) Public Health Act (Northern Ireland) 1967 enable the UK Government and devolved administrations to take a flexible approach according to the data in different parts of the UK. Public health is devolved and different underpinning legislation is required to enable interventions in different parts of the UK - even where those interventions may be similar.
