We have already put in place a raft of measures to deal with the extraordinary set of circumstances brought on by the pandemic and the global economy rebounding.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>These include:</p><ul><li><p>increasing HGV testing capacity by 90% to help get new drivers into the sector quickly;</p></li><li><p>extending cabotage rights;</p></li><li><p>making available bootcamp places to train up to 5,000 HGV drivers, and</p></li><li><p>making available temporary visas for poultry workers and butchers.</p></li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p>In October, the Prime Minister appointed Sir Dave Lewis to advise HM Government on supply chains and to identify both immediate improvements and any necessary long-term changes. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has also published new product standards for drones which will become fully applicable by 2022. These include a mandatory requirement for drones to be fitted with geo-awareness software and being remotely identifiable before being placed on the market.</p><p>At an international level, the International Organization for Standardization is currently developing standards for drone safety and operation in which the British Standards Institution (BSI) committee members represent the UK. The COP President committed to meeting with young people on international visits over the last year and has established the COP26 Civil Society and Youth Advisory Council, which he chairs together with two youth representatives.</p><p>On the road to COP26, we have worked with our COP26 partner, the Government of Italy, to deliver the ‘Youth4Climate2021: Driving Ambition’ event held in Milan in September, and we are endorsing the 16th UN Conference of Youth event held in Glasgow.</p><p>At COP26, we will host a dedicated Youth &amp; Public Empowerment Day to elevate youth voices and demonstrate the critical role of education and empowerment to drive climate action.
