The police and security services work day and night to keep the public safe, they are currently managing nearly 800 live investigations of around 3,000 individuals.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>All deaths in custody are reported to Her Majesty's Prison &amp; Probation Service within 24 hours. That report includes (among other things) the name of the deceased, the date they died, their gender, and a brief description of the circumstances of their death. Where possible the report will give a provisional cause of death. The prison is also obliged to report the death to the Prisons &amp; Probation Ombudsman, to allow her investigation to begin, and all deaths in custody are the subject of an inquest. The cause of death may be updated later in light of the Ombudsman’s report and/or the coroner’s verdict.</p><p> </p><p>The answer to question 16975 gave figures taken from data that the Government published on 25 April 2019, covering deaths in custody up to the end of March. My officials have double-checked and I can confirm that those figures were correct. Data about deaths in custody can be inspected using the <em>Deaths data tool </em>at https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/safety-in-custody-quarterly-update-to-december-2018. The Department is working to address tariff and non-tariff barriers facing the sector through our planned future trade agreements and other dialogues with partner countries. The current Chief Executive of the Scotch Whisky Association is an adviser to the Board of Trade.</p><p> </p><p>Scotch is the largest export within the food and drink sector with over £4.8bn in sales in 2018, a rise of 7.7% compared to 2017.</p><p> </p> more like this

The Department for Work and Pension's (DWP) 2014 review found that local authorities delivered support more effectively than the previous provision and that councils are best placed to decide how to target flexible help to support local welfare needs.
