star this property answer text <p>The department does not hold a record centrally of employees who have had bullying or harassment claims raised against them, and therefore we are unable to determine how many cases of bullying/harassment have been raised specifically against managers.</p><p> </p><p>The total number of formal bullying and harassment complaints made over the past 5 years is listed in the table below. Individuals who feel that they are being harassed or bullied can contact HR for support, or seek informal advice from representatives of the department’s Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination Advisers Group which was launched at the end of last year.</p>

star this property answer text <p>The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy was created in July 2016. Bullying or harassment is not tolerated at BEIS. BEIS is taking active steps where needed to address any issues, and is one of the best performing departments in government with regards to creating an inclusive culture, as highlighted by the cross-civil service people survey results.</p><p>Below are the figures for the number of bullying and/or harassment cases recorded against members of BEIS staff where advice and guidance was sought from our HR Casework Services team. star this property answer text <p>We have checked the records that the department has kept since the introduction of the Cabinet Office guidance on settlement agreements on 1 February 2015 and confirm that we have one record, of using an NDA with a departmental staff member in July 2015.</p><p>The use of this NDA was unintentional i.e. the standard NDA paragraph was accidently left in the template by mistake. We are not aware of the Home Office using NDA for departmental staff other than this since the new guidance was introduced. However, the records examined were cross-matched from several different data sets, assembled for different purposes. As there were some gaps in the data sets, while we are confident this was the only instance, we cannot guarantee that we were able to identify every case.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Cabinet Office are taking the issue of Bullying and Harassment seriously, and have developed a Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination Action plan to reduce the incidence of these behaviours within the Cabinet Office.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Cabinet Office does not hold central records covering all cases of Bullying and Harassment. In general, in line with Cabinet Office policy complaints are handled locally by line managers within the business unit, either through an informal or formal process.</p><p> </p><p>Cabinet Office uses the annual People Survey to collect data about Bullying and Harassment levels in the department.</p><p> </p><p>People Survey results are available here:</p><p>https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/civil-service-people-surveys</p><p> </p> more like this

Where more than one member of staff is involved in a single case these are counted separately in this table. Equally staff involved in more than one case during the year are counted multiple times.</li><li>Managers defined as Civil Service Band B / SEO and above.</li><li>Conduct and discipline cases are defined as where a penalty has been imposed on a member of staff for a reason of conduct.</li><li>This includes 'Bullying and Harassment’ and ‘Abusive language/behaviour towards staff’ in data collected in HM Prison &amp; Probation Service (HMPPS) and 'Offensive, abusive or repeated unwanted behaviour' in the remaining MOJ data.</li><li>The 2017/18 data is provisional for HMPPS.</li></ol><p>Data includes MOJ and its Executive Agencies.</p><p> </p><p>MoJ has an ongoing commitment to ensuring that staff are treated with dignity and respect and that concerns raised by staff are listened to and dealt with appropriately. MoJ has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of harassment and bullying. Our grievance policy and guidance is published on our intranet and accessible to all staff. We have a network of anti-bullying and harassment advisors that provide peer support to staff. In addition, we have an Employee Assistance Programme that offers advice, support and counselling services to those who have experienced harassment and bullying.</p>
