star this property answer text <p>Local authorities and bus operators are not required to inform the Department when they establish individual statutory or voluntary partnerships.</p><p> </p><p>Data for the Department’s Annual Bus Statistics 2017/18 show that 20% of local bus operators in England were part of at least one bus partnership scheme (operators can be involved in more than one).</p><p> </p><p>The statistics also show that 7% of local bus operators in England were involved in at least one statutory bus partnership scheme with 16% involved in at least one voluntary scheme (operators can be involved in more than one scheme e.g. one statutory and one voluntary).</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Changes to bus services are notified to the Traffic Commissioners.</p><p>The Traffic Commissioners Annual Report for 2018-19 is due to be published in the Autumn. The latest published data from the Traffic Commissioners with regards the number of cancelled registrations can be found:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/traffic-commissioners-annual-report-2017-to-2018" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/traffic-commissioners-annual-report-2017-to-2018</a></p><p>The numbers of cancelled registrations will not be the same as the number of cessations of bus services: a registration that is cancelled may be complemented by a new service introduction that is an exact match or a slight variation to the one which has been cancelled.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Local authorities are currently empowered to offer local travel concessions under concessionary travel legislation. If they wish to do so, local authorities are able to offer discounted travel to young people. In addition, bus operators can offer discounted travel for young people - bus operators in 71 of the 89 TCA areas in England outside of London offered some form of discounted travel for young people in 2018/19. In addition, there is a statutory scheme for certain eligible children to receive free school transport.</p> more like this
