Every person working for the Department has a personal responsibility for implementing and promoting these commitments in their day-to-day dealings with customers, with each other and with employers and partners. Inappropriate behaviour is not acceptable.</p><p> </p><p>DWP have developed Autism Awareness training for all DWP operational staff, using information from the National Autistic Society. This training explains what Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are and how they may impact on a claimants’ daily life, including how this impacts individuals differently. This helps DWP staff be aware of how they can offer appropriate support. The training also focuses on what support DWP can provide to help customers with ASD secure employment, highlighting the tailored support available and focusing on what positive strengths customers with ASD can offer a prospective employer.</p><p> </p><p>Within the Fundamental Learning Journey for all DWP Operational roles, we have learning for Supporting Vulnerable Adults (hosted by Civil Service Learning), Safeguarding children and for Adults and Equality and Diversity.</p><p> </p><p>There is DWP technical learning specifically for staff who need to look at medical evidence for particular medical conditions as part of their job role. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/06/2019 answer text <p>The Child Maintenance Group has a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Defence that supports the operation of Deduction from Earnings Requests. However, the final decision on whether to implement the deduction from earnings request and at what rate ultimately rests with HM Paymaster. Where we are unable to deduct child maintenance directly from salaries, we will look to enforce payment directly from a paying parent’s bank account.</p><p>Where a paying parent fails to pay on time or in full, the Child Maintenance Service has a wide range of strong enforcement powers including deduction from earnings orders, order for sale, removing non-paying parent's driving licences, disqualification of passports, and committal to prison.</p><p>We introduced new powers in December 2018 which allow the Child Maintenance Service to deduct child maintenance directly from a wider range of accounts, including joint and business accounts, and enable it to target complex earners via a calculation of notional income based on assets.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Colchester answering member printed Will Quince question first answered 05/06/2019 14:13:39 answering member 4423 label Biography information for Will Quince

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/04/2019 answer text <p>Universal Credit is more generous in terms of childcare costs with an increased level of support, from 70 per cent with legacy benefits to 85 per cent within Universal Credit.</p><p> </p><p>We recognise that the upfront cost of childcare may cause some claimants financial difficulty. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/05/2019 answer text <p>A welcome pack is issued to each new employer which is followed up with a telephone call to a specific person in payroll to check they understand the Deductions from Earnings Order (DEO) process and the employers obligation, to deduct payments on time from employee salary. Each month thereafter, a target schedule is sent to the employer’s payroll department.</p><p> </p><p>For existing employers a target schedule is also sent and a phone call will have taken place when we initially requested deductions to be taken.</p><p> </p><p>If employers don’t make the payment to CMS on time we will call that employer 5 working days after the missed payment to investigate late payment and re-iterate their obligations to CMS.</p><p> </p><p>Where employers repeatedly fail to send payments, we will work with them to understand what we need to do in order to reach compliance. At this point we also work alongside our Financial Investigations Unit, where we might consider a face to face visit to the employer is appropriate.
