	question text	To ask Her Majesty's Government what plans they have to enact legislation similar to the Gambling Addiction Prevention Act 2019 in the United States, which legally requires the development and implementation of policies and programmes to prevent and treat gambling disorders among members of the armed forces and their dependants.

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/11/2020 answer text <p>New recruits to the Armed Forces receive comprehensive briefing on the importance of financial security and the values and standards expected of them, during which the issue of gambling is raised. They are also signposted to the full range of support and assistance available for welfare matters, including gambling. New officers are trained how to identify and support those under their command who are experiencing financial difficulties, including those caused by gambling.</p><p>There are no plans to enact legislation similar to that of the United States' Gambling Addiction Prevention Act 2019. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/11/2020 answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) takes problem-gambling seriously and provides welfare support and financial awareness training for our people.
