Recruitment and eligibility criteria of special constables are set locally at the discretion of Chief Officers.</p><p>The Home Office Employer Supported Policing (ESP) scheme is a partnership between employers and the police service aimed at encouraging employers to enable their staff to volunteer as special constables in the communities they serve. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/11/2021 answer text <p>The Government is absolutely committed to tackling and preventing anti-social behaviour (ASB). We know the serious impact that ASB has on both individuals and communities.</p><p>We provided the police, local authorities and other local agencies with a range of tools and powers that they can use to respond quickly and effectively to all forms of ASB through the <em>Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014</em>. These powers are deliberately local in nature, and it is for local agencies to determine whether their use is appropriate in the specific circumstances of each individual case.</p><p>In January of this year, the Home Office updated <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/956143/ASB_Statutory_Guidance.pdf" target="_blank">statutory guidance</a> to support local agencies to make effective use of these powers and in July the <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1015382/Crime-plan-v10.pdf" target="_blank">Beating Crime Plan</a> laid out the Government’s plan for tackling crime and ASB. This included a commitment to working with local agencies and partners to drive down ASB using the full range of powers and tools in the ‘2014 Act’.</p><p>In addition, the Home Office’s Safer Streets Fund has allocated over £70m to support areas that are disproportionately affected by acquisitive crime. And this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.</p><p>The police must take the toughest possible action against any form of antisemitism. Jewish people must feel safe.</p><p>Everyone has freedom of speech and the right to protest peacefully. That does not include the right to be racist, to harass anyone, or to incite hatred or violence. Moreover, holding Jewish people collectively responsible for the actions – real or imagined - of the Israeli state is antisemitic. Overall police funding available to PCCs will increase by up to £703 million (5.4% in cash terms) next year.</p><p>Essex police’s funding will be up to £339 million in 2021/22, an increase of up to £18.8 million. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/07/2019 answer text <p>The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies to care homes and the parts of multi-occupied residential premises that are used in common by occupants of more than one dwelling. The Fire Safety Order requires those responsible for a premises to undertake and review regularly a fire risk assessment and put in place and maintain adequate and appropriate fire protection measures to mitigate the risk to life from fire to as low as is reasonably practicable.</p><p><br>The Home Office recently launched a Call for Evidence on the Fire Safety Order to ensure it remains fit for purpose. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/07/2020 answer text <p>The Home Office is six months into the implementation of the Apprenticeships Operating Model (AOM) designed to centralise all HR end-to-end processes (including streamlining recruitment activities through to programme onboarding). The growth of a dedicated team has been stood up to increase the quality and quality of apprenticeships for the future. This industry tested model has the capacity and capability to meet the minimum 2.3% statutory target (England workforce) annually. To enable delivery, there are strong governance frameworks in place which are closely connected to the Home Office People Strategy 2018 – 2023.</p><p> </p><p>The refreshed AOM and strengthened workforce planning enables the dept. to address the target shortfall and annual ministerial commitments within a two-year period. Key to assessing performance is through the delivery of a robust Assurance Framework to ensure demand and delivery are aligned and reviewed quarterly and RAG status at Director General level.</p><p> </p><p>In the coming six months, the Home Office is committed to prioritising apprenticeships recruitment across operational delivery (largest population in the department), policy and digital professions. The impact of the current pandemic has slowed recruitment due to priority work and logistics.
