star this property answer text <p>On 16 April, The Home Office established a Taskforce to ensure that members of the Windrush generation were able to evidence their right to be in the UK.</p><p>Individuals considered as possible Windrush are referred for a call back from an experienced caseworker. To the end of August, 6,564 individuals have been referred for a call back.</p><p>Callers are not required to provide a correspondence address when calling the helpline and information relating to the geographic location of callers is not available.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>No one who has contacted the Department’s Taskforce for Windrush has subsequently experienced immigration enforcement action as a result of coming forward. We are very clear that information to taskforce will not be passed for enforcement.</p><p>As at 17 May 2018, 7 individuals who have contacted the Windrush Taskforce, have also been identified as being wanted in connection to an on-going criminal investigation and have been referred to the Police. How the Police then decided to handle the matter is for them, and not something that the Taskforce are involved in, as it is not related to an immigration matter.</p> more like this
