	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/12/2018 answer text <p>NHS England is currently undertaking a review of its specialised neonatal services in order to improve quality of care and ensure there is sufficient capacity for the future. It will consider the National Bereavement Care Pathway (NBCP), referenced in the ‘Audit of Bereavement Care Provision in UK Neonatal Units 2018’, which sets out a comprehensive framework for bereavement support across five stages of pregnancy and baby loss, including neonatal death.</p><p> </p><p>All bereaved parents, following baby loss, should be offered the same high standard of care and support in an appropriate environment. That is why the Government recently announced over £100,000 of funding for Sands, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity, to continue the roll-out of the NBCP for 2018/19. This builds upon £50,000 of start-up funding and is in response to the great strides the project is making.</p><p> </p><p>Furthermore, the Toolkit for High Quality Neonatal Services sets out requirements that all staff have bereavement training; that each unit has a bereavement lead; and that parents are given written information about bereavement services where relevant. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/12/2018 answer text <p>We have made an additional £1.4 billion available for children’s mental health service transformation and are on track to ensure that an additional 70,000 children and young people access community mental health services annually by 2020/21.</p><p> </p><p>We have introduced two waiting time standards for children and young people and are on track to meet both of these standards. The first aims for 95% of children (up to 19 years old) with eating disorders to receive treatment within a week for urgent cases and four weeks for routine cases. The second aims for 50% of patients of all ages experiencing a first episode of psychosis to receive treatment within two weeks of referral.</p><p> </p><p>Our Children and Young People’s Green Paper, jointly published with the Department for Education, sets out how we plan to go further. We are piloting a four-week waiting time to improve access to services and are introducing new mental health support teams. Last year we published ‘Towards a smoke-free generation: a Tobacco Control Plan for England’, which committed the Government to achieve a smoke-free generation. Over the course of this Parliament the Government aims to reduce smoking prevalence from:</p><p>- 15.5% to 12% amongst adults;</p><p>- 10.7% to 6% amongst pregnant women; and</p><p>- 8% to 3% amongst 15-year olds who regularly smoke.</p><p> </p><p>The Government also aims to reduce the inequality gap in smoking prevalence between those in routine and manual occupations and the general population.</p><p> </p><p>Death rates due to smoking have been falling since 2006 and evidence suggests that quitting smoking will improve one’s life expectancy, even if quitting happens later in life.</p> answering member constituency Winchester answering member printed Steve Brine question first answered 18/12/2018 17:01:16 answering member 4067 label Biography information for Steve Brine

The verification of professional qualifications is a matter for the General Medical Council (GMC) and local employers.</p><p> </p><p>The GMC is the independent regulator of doctors in the UK. All doctors must register with the GMC to be able to practise in the UK.
