	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/09/2017 answer text <p>The Special Representative on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, made a statement at the 36th session of the Human Rights Council on 11 September which made clear that the UK strongly condemned all violence in Rakhine State and called on all parties to de-escalate tensions and address the humanitarian crisis.</p><p>We continue to raise issues of conflict-related sexual violence with the Burmese authorities. Our engagement with the Burmese military has been focused on educational training, designed to instil knowledge and awareness in the military of the requirement to observe human rights and the rule of international humanitarian law. Some progress has also been acknowledged by the Inter-American Commission for Human Rights' (IACHR) Follow-Up Mechanism following its visits to Mexico in December and April. However, the whereabouts of the missing students and the events leading to their disappearance remain unclear.</p><p>British Embassy officials have engaged with both the IACHR Mechanism and the families of those affected. We continue to call on the Mexican Government to bring the perpetrators to justice. We continue to urge the Government of Sudan and the opposition to reach an agreement on a cessation of hostilities to allow for humanitarian access. We are deeply troubled by the fighting and displacement in South Sudan, particularly in the regions of Greater Upper Nile and the Equatorias. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/04/2017 answer text <p>UK aid programmes in source and transit countries increasingly focus on jobs and livelihoods, aiming to reduce the need for migrants to leave. We are also targeting people smuggling gangs.</p><p>The conflict makes Libya a difficult country in which to operate. Nonetheless the UK has committed over £12.4million since October 2015. The UK remains of the view that the EU accession process is important to delivering security, stability and prosperity in Turkey. We encourage Turkey to continue to engage constructively with the accession process. As and when candidate countries have met the requirements for accession in full, it will be for those countries and EU members at the time to decide on membership.
