star this property answer text <p>I meet regularly with Volkswagen executives to press them on important issues, including the progress of technical updates being applied to affected vehicles. The most recent meeting was on 6<sup>th</sup> February.</p><p> </p><p>There are 1.2million affected vehicles in the UK and the technical update has been approved for approximately one million of these. Officials are tracking Volkswagen’s progress in updating the vehicles in the UK and as of 7<sup>th</sup> February 420,000 vehicles had been modified.</p><p> </p><p>I have impressed upon the company the need for a speedy roll-out of the technical upgrade, and urged them to treat UK consumers fairly.</p> more like this

The Secretary of State plans to travel to Berlin to meet with our German counterparts to discuss this important issue. We expect that the vast majority of the wrongdoing took place in Germany and so it is appropriate that the German authorities lead the investigation. However we have not ruled out launching our own criminal investigation.</p><p> </p><p>I have met with representatives of legal firms preparing civil action against Volkswagen and am considering their requests for assistance. I will be updating the House, as appropriate, in due course.</p> more like this

However, I have discussed Volkswagen with my German counterpart and explained that the Government wants Volkswagen’s UK and European customers to receive a warranty when they have the “technical fix” applied to their vehicles. star this property answer text <p>The Government takes the actions of Volkswagen extremely seriously and we continue to press them to resolve issues including compensation and a warranty for UK consumers.</p><p> </p><p>I have held two meetings with representatives from the company since December 2016 and written to them on four separate occasions. On 16 January I met with Paul Willis, Managing Director of VW UK, and on 6 February I met with Dr Garcia Sanz, a member of the Volkswagen Management Board, and VW UK representatives. By the time of the January meeting Volkswagen had applied ‘fixes’ to 350,000 affected vehicles in the UK and by the time of the February meeting this was 402,000.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this
