<p>New recruits to the Armed Forces receive comprehensive briefing on the importance
of financial security and the values and standards expected of them, during which
the issue of gambling is raised. They are also signposted to the full range of support
and assistance available for welfare matters, including gambling. New officers are
trained how to identify and support those under their command who are experiencing
financial difficulties, including those caused by gambling.</p><p>There are no plans
to enact legislation similar to that of the United States' Gambling Addiction Prevention
Act 2019. Polices and initiatives already in operation by the Department and Armed
Forces closely mirror the requirements and obligations stipulated by said Act and
have similar effect.</p>
