We are encouraged by the progress Turkey has made on these issues. In particular, we welcome the steps taken to protect the interests of religious minorities in Turkey. This includes the freedom granted to hold religious services at the Greek Orthodox Sumela Monastery and Armenian Orthodox Akdamar Church; updated religious textbooks for schools; and the returning of property seized by the state to religious minorities. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/10/2014 answer text <p>A comprehensive needs assessment of the post-disaster recovery requirements stemming from this year’s floods was carried out by the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The EU, the UN and the World Bank supported this process by providing resources and technical support. The assessment reflects damages, effects, impact and needs across a range of sectors including agriculture, education, health, public services, housing, transportation and energy. It estimates that the economic impact of the floods was £1.62bn. A European Commission hosted donors’ conference in July raised £810m towards the rehabilitation effort.</p><p>The EU assistance to the flood response is currently €42m, plus €1m from the UN Development Programme (UNDP), which has gone to rebuild schools, houses and other community infrastructure. An additional tranche of €43m is due to be released to cover flood prevention and provide more housing assistance.</p><p>In addition to a £1.03m commitment for immediate humanitarian assistance, the British Government is due to release a further £1m to the flood response work through the UNDP. The footage shows what looks like police officers using disproportionate force. The Hong Kong authorities have described this incident as inappropriate and are investigating. We welcome this investigation.</p><p>Hong Kong is an important part of the UK’s relationship with China. We continue to meet regularly at senior levels with both the Chinese authorities and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government. It is still possible for him to appeal the decision, and we will not be making representations while the legal process is ongoing.</p><p>The death penalty undermines human dignity and its abolition is a human rights priority for the UK. Ministers, our Ambassador in Riyadh and the Embassy team raise the issue of the death penalty with the Saudi authorities, both bilaterally and through the European Union. We recognise that total abolition of the death penalty is unlikely in Saudi Arabia in the near future. We have not made any estimates of how many Israelis have been killed or injured in the same period, but during the recent Gaza crisis six Israeli civilians were killed (including one child).
