	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/11/2018 answer text <p>The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) does not currently recommend any specific treatment for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD).</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is engaging with NICE on the Highly Specialised Technologies evaluation of human alpha1-proteinase inhibitor for treating emphysema in adults with documented severe AATD (ID856). The research aims to identify vulnerable patients, at an early stage, who may be unlikely to respond to current treatment for anorexia, with the longer-term aim of shaping individualised support and treatment strategies.
