unstar this property answer text
The Main Gate Business Case investment decision for a contractor-led, output-based in service support solution for the UK A400M fleet was approved in May 2014. Negotiations are nearing completion, with contractual agreement anticipated in August 2014. This innovative solution is designed to combine the commercial efficiencies of civil aviation maintenance whilst also ensuring that it delivers the operational flexibility required to operate a fleet of military aircraft; as a result, the workforce will be made up of both contractor staff and RAF personnel. Just as the aircraft fleet will be introduced over several years, the number of personnel (both contractor and RAF) involved in the support solution will also build up to reflect this. At this stage, however, final numbers are not yet known.

The Main Operating Base for the UK A400M fleet will be RAF Brize Norton, and it is expected that all maintenance activities will be carried out in bespoke on-base facilities.
more like this

unstar this property answer text
The Department for Education does not make any financial contribution to the Academies Show. The cost of venue hire, catering, promotion and advertising is covered by GovNet Communications, a private sector publisher and events organisation.

A Minister and a director from the Department make keynote speeches to open each Academies Show, and between five and ten other senior staff give up to three one hour presentations each, during the day.

One member of staff from the Department works with GovNet Communications, for approximately one hour a week, to put together the events programme and to coordinate and manage the department’s stand at the show. This stand is provided free of charge by GovNet. Up to 40 members of staff operate the Department’s stand on a shift basis, to answer questions that delegates have about the academies programme.

The Academies Show brings together headteachers, teachers, governors, school business managers and others involved in the world of education. The show provides an opportunity for delegates to increase their understanding of the academies programme and to hear presentations and case studies from a wide range of education experts. The last Academies Show, held in London in April 2014 attracted almost 2,400 visitors.

unstar this property answer text

Access to Work is an important part of the employment support we provide for disabled people who need additional help to take up and remain in employment. I want to build on the success of this programme, which is why the Minister of State for Disabled People has said that we will look into Access to Work to focus on how we can support more disabled people within the resources available and further improve the service we offer to customers. We will set out further details shortly, which will include timescales for taking this work forward.
more like this

answer
unstar this property answer text
National Health Service accident and emergency (A&E) departments are measured against a standard that at least 95% of patients should be admitted, transferred or discharged within four hours of arrival. The standard applies to all types of (A&E) departments, including major (A&E) departments, minor injury units, and walk-in centres.

This standard was met in all four quarters and for the whole of 2013-14, with performance at 95.7% for the year. It has been met for the first quarter (April to June) of 2014-15, with performance at 95.1%.

There were 21.8 million attendances at (A&E) departments in 2013-14 compared to 20.5 million in 2009-10, and in the face of rising demand not all patients are receiving care within the standard. NHS England, the NHS Trust Development Authority and Monitor are working with the most challenged providers and commissioners. £400 million has been made available this year to ensure local urgent and emergency care services are sustainable and prepared for winter.
