star this property answer text <p>The UK Government will guarantee EU funding for structural and investment fund projects in Wales, including agri-environment schemes, signed before we leave the EU. It will be for the Welsh Government to make an assessment of which projects should be pursued in areas of its competence, and this guarantee will apply to any such projects. The agricultural sector in Wales will receive the same level of funding that it would have received under Pillar 1 of CAP until the end of the Multi-Annual Financial Framework in 2020.</p><p> </p><p>As a result of these steps taken by the UK Government, individuals and organisations in receipt of EU funds now have a greater degree of certainty about funding over the coming years. The UK Government will work with the Welsh Government to consider future funding arrangements for once the UK has left the EU.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The following documents have been placed in the Library.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In October 2013, alongside the public consultation, Defra published an evidence paper which assessed the impact of the new Common Agricultural Policy and the costs and benefits of payments made to farmers.</p><p> </p><p><a href="https://consult.defra.gov.uk/agricultural-policy/cap-consultation" target="_blank">https://consult.defra.gov.uk/agricultural-policy/cap-consultation</a>.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Since then a number of more technical implementation decisions were announced and on 11 December 2014 the Common Agricultural Policy Basic Payment and Support Schemes (England) Regulations 2014 No. 3259 were laid in Parliament. star this property answer text <p>We have engaged regularly with the farming industry and other interested groups on the implementation of the Basic Payment Scheme. This has included our formal consultation on the implementation of the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in England in October 2013, to which we received nearly 5,000 responses. 720 people also attended our regional consultation events. Our response to that consultation was published on 19 December 2013, with a further response in February 2014.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Since last April we have published a series of ‘Countdown to CAP Reform’ leaflets to provide potential claimants, including farmers and landowners, with as much clarity as possible on progress in implementing the CAP in England as it has become available. We have continued to seek input from industry and other interested groups.</p><p> </p> more like this

Defra will first work with the devolved administrations to decide on the data needed to facilitate a comparison of payments across the UK.
