star this property answer text <p>Under the terms of the EFEF Act, the Department of Justice in Northern Ireland has been able to continue work in line with pre-existing policy decisions on Domestic Abuse, in the absence of a functioning Assembly. Officials are liaising closely with the Home Office and Ministry of Justice to discuss a new Domestic Abuse Offence in Northern Ireland. The NIO is liaising with all departments so that the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and I can be kept up to date with progress.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Under the Regulation 115 of the Representation of the People (England and Wales)(Amendment) Regulations 2002, anyone who is supplied with the full register is not permitted to sell a copy to any person, disclose any information contained in it, or use it for anything apart from the specified purpose for which the full register has been supplied. star this property answer text <p>Under Individual Electoral Registration (IER) applicants provide two personal identifiers including a national insurance number which are checked against Government records to help verify the person is who they say they are. As part of the transition to IER in 2014, 87% of the existing electorate was automatically re-registered under the new system after being data matched against Government and local authority data. Data matching continues to be integral to IER, in verifying new applications, but also locally in identifying and verifying applications from eligible electors. We will keep under review the scope for data to further improve voter registration.</p> more like this
