answer text
We recently consulted on the rules for the Warm Home Discount to apply in 2015/16. As part this consultation, we proposed amending the Industry Initiatives element of the scheme to allow participating energy suppliers to have the opportunity to provide rebates to residents of Park Homes. Providing support to park home residents in this way would be at the discretion of suppliers, who would also determine the level of support made available. The consultation closed on 13 November and we are currently analysing the responses. We expect to lay draft Regulations in early 2015.
more like this

These include the Green Deal, the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund, Green Deal Communities and the Energy Company Obligation.

These initiatives supported the improvement of over 790,000 homes between January 2013 and August 2014, and we are on track to meet our target of improving the energy efficiency of 1 million homes by March 2015.

Vouchers issued through the popular first phase of GDHIF have resulted in an on-going pipeline of work that is improving homes and we expect around 20,000 households will benefit.

An additional £100 million for UK household energy efficiency announced last month will be used to launch a new phase of GDHIF later this month. answer text
The Government recognises that online sources of energy usage information can be useful but does not believe that these can substitute for in-home displays in delivering the benefits of smart meters.

In home displays allow consumers and their family members to see immediately their current and historic energy use and its cost in near-real time and do not rely on consumers having internet access or smart phones. Current evidence shows higher energy savings from those with a smart meter and IHD compared to those with a smart meter only.

Energy suppliers are free to offer additional means for their customers to engage with their energy usage, which may be available online and offer different forms of analysis to the IHD. We expect that some consumers will want different information but believe that all should have the information provided by IHDs readily available.

We will continue to monitor the evidence in this area and emerging technical developments to ensure that our policy remains appropriate.
