star this property answer text <p /> <p /> <p>Statistics on how many people have made use of the &quot;system of advances&quot; is not currently available.</p><p> </p><p>Information on how many people have been helped by &quot;local support frameworks&quot; is not readily available and could only be provided at disproportionate cost.</p><p> </p><p>Our Local Authority partners are supporting claimants through our local delivery partnerships, and feedback from claimant surveys suggests there is no significant difference between the proportion of UC and JSA claimants accessing funding from third party lenders.</p><p> </p><p>Information on whether these methods have reduced numbers resorting to food banks and loan sharks is not collected by the Department.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p /> <p /> <p>The Government does not collect nutrition and health data in the way described and has no plans to do so.</p><p> </p><p>Claimants are expected to take reasonable steps to prepare for or find work. Safeguards are in place to ensure claimants are capable of achieving these steps, that they are appropriate to helping them towards or into work. These safeguards include claimants and their advisers agreeing what the actions will be, claimants being asked to give their reason for complying with the agreed actions before a sanction is imposed, the right to request a reconsideration of a decision and to lodge an appeal with Her Majesty's Court &amp; Tribunal Service.</p><p> </p><p>Claimants whose benefit is sanctioned can apply for hardship payments</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p /> <p /> <p>Where a benefit doubt is identified and the case is being referred to a decision maker, claimants are given information (verbally and in writing) about the doubt in question, what happens next, what they can do if a sanction is applied and the availability of hardship provision. Once a decision is made and a sanction applied, a formal notification is issued to the claimant, which includes information about how to apply for hardship.</p><p> </p><p>The Department does not record information about the length of time it takes to make a Hardship payment following receipt of an application.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p /> <p>The decision to temporarily halt a jobseeker’s benefit payment is always thoroughly considered and is not something we do lightly.</p><p> </p><p>It is a consequence of a jobseeker not meeting the conditions attached to receiving their benefits without good reason.</p><p> </p><p>Jobseekers are only ever asked to meet reasonable requirements, taking into account their circumstances and capability. The requirements and consequences are clearly communicated with them throughout their claim and set out in their Claimant Commitment.</p><p> </p><p>The vast majority of jobseekers fulfil their requirements and do not receive a sanction.</p> more like this
