The Government takes any suggestions that people have suffered ill health as a result of flying very seriously.</p><p>It is not clear which AAIB recommendation is referred to. Where the AAIB makes safety recommendations, addressees are legally required to respond within 90 days giving their proposed actions and when they will be carried out, or if no action is to take place the reasons why. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/11/2022 answer text <p>The HS2 programme is experiencing high levels of inflation, consistent with the rest of the economy and construction industry. Whilst I am clear that HS2 Ltd and its supply chain must do all they can do mitigate inflationary pressures, the overall cost of the programme is not affected in real terms because the budgets are set in 2019 prices.</p><p> </p><p>Inflation affects the value of the costs as well as the benefits and using a consistent price base removes the effects of general inflation from the benefit-cost ratio (BCR) calculation. If materials cost inflation and general inflation are significantly different, the BCR could change. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/03/2024 answer text <p>Utility companies have a right to access footways to carry out works to maintain or install their infrastructure, including to roll-out broadband. Companies must reinstate the footway after the works have been completed in line with the statutory code of practice, ‘the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways’ (SROH). Highway authorities have the power to direct utility companies to carry out remedial works at the utility company’s expense if they identify reinstatements that do not meet the standards in the code. They can also fine companies for works that overrun.</p><p> </p><p>As part of the plan for drivers we are consulting on measures to increase the rate of fixed penalty notices for some street work offences and extend charges for utility companies whose works overrun to include weekends and bank holidays. Direct comparisons with accessibility interventions outside London, which may or may not be required by law, are therefore likely to be misleading.</p><p> </p><p>To level up accessibility across Great Britain, we have introduced the “REAL” cross-modal disability awareness training syllabus, relaunched the Inclusive Transport Leaders Scheme, and are requiring the provision of audible and visible information onboard local bus and coach services.</p><p> </p><p>Disabled people should be able to use transport services easily, confidently and without additional cost wherever they travel.
