This is a voluntary scheme whereby local authorities sign up to accept refugees on a voluntary basis. star this property answer text <p>The Department combats overseas state pension fraud and error by means of data matching and life certificates.</p><p> </p><p>DWP continues to explore how to extend and improve existing data matching arrangements. However, at present, the Department does not have any formal arrangements with overseas banks regarding notifications of death.</p><p> </p><p>On occasions, DWP will receive notification from an overseas bank informing the Department that a payment has been rejected because of the death of a payee.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>I can confirm that DWP has contracted directly with the Association of British Credit Unions Limited (ABCUL) for the delivery of the Credit Union Expansion Project (CUEP). ABCUL’s subsidiary Cornerstone Mutual Services (CMS) contracts individually with each Credit Union agreeing specific financial terms and incentives. DWP does not hold statistics on funds that have been allocated to each Credit Union as this forms part of the commercial agreement between CMS and the Credit Unions. It should be noted that the bulk of the CUEP funding has been invested in the development of a shared infrastructure for Credit Unions to modernise their business models and become more sustainable.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>On 6th July 2016 DWP launched a payroll savings scheme to allow staff to access financial services delivered by three partner credit unions - Commsave, Hull and East Yorkshire, and Voyager Alliance - directly through payroll. This initiative formed part of DWP’s “Working Well Together” wellbeing programme. Early indications are that the scheme has been very well received and so far over 2,100 DWP staff have signed up as credit union members through payroll.</p> more like this
