Electronic counting is used in only a small number of polls. However, in considering whether to extend the use of electronic counting, we would need to take into account the cost, accuracy and integrity of adopting it more widely. In previous polls electronic counting has been more expensive and has not been as quick as expected in some circumstancesWe therefore currently have no plans to further its use.
