This information is only collected in quarter four (January to March) via WasteDataFlow. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/06/2021 answer text <p>According to data from the Waste and Resources Action Programme, the number of local authorities providing a weekly residual waste collection was (a) 202 in 2009/10, (b) 172 in 2014/15 and (c) 147 in 2019/20. In the data set, some local authorities may appear in more than one frequency category as they may operate several different schemes across their area. There are also a small number of local authorities who provide a residual waste collection more frequently than weekly.</p><p> </p><p>The frequency of waste collections is for local authorities to determine. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/02/2024 answer text <p>The UK played a leading role at COP15 of the Convention on Biological Diversity in securing agreement to a historic package of measures to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030. Our priority for COP16 and beyond is to drive global delivery of these agreements both at home and abroad, by working closely with our international partners.</p><p> </p><p>Since COP15, we have worked internationally to drive delivery of the Kunming Montreal targets, including by:</p><p> </p><ul><li>announcing an initial contribution of £10m to the newly-established Global Biodiversity Framework Fund;</li><li>launching the Ocean Community Empowerment and Nature (OCEAN) competitive grants programme under the UK's £500 million Blue Planet Fund, which will run until 31 March 2029 and provide up to £60m to support innovative proposals from local coastal communities and organisations that aim to deliver marine protection and poverty reduction outcomes; and</li><li>committing to lay in Spring 2024 forest risk commodity legislation which will require UK-based operators to ensure that the regulated commodities used in their supply chains were produced in compliance with local laws relating to land ownership and use.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Domestically we have:</p><p> </p><ul><li>driven forward the global commitment to protect 30% of land and sea for nature by 2030, publishing a new map to show what areas could count in the delivery of “30by30”, which will ensure our most important places, at the core of nature’s recovery, are protected for our iconic species to thrive;</li><li>announced £15million new funding to accelerate nature recovery across our most cherished Protected Landscapes, and a new Rainforest Strategy backed by £750,000 funding to protect the delicate and globally rare temperate rainforest habitats found across the Southwest and Cumbria;</li><li>reaffirmed our commitment to deliver Marine Net Gain (MNG), ensuring that developments at sea also deliver measurable benefits for nature; and</li><li>established a comprehensive network of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) covering 38% of our waters, with sites protecting 40% of English waters. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/03/2024 answer text <p>The Impact and Value for Money Evaluation of ELM is a vital component of our reporting commitment under the Agriculture Act (2020) and it builds on our experience of delivering, monitoring and evaluating agri-environment schemes over the last few decades, working closely with farmers, land managers and wider industry stakeholders and research specialists. We are in the process of both developing and delivering on our monitoring and evaluation plans for each of the Environmental Land Management schemes, recognising the phased rollout of the schemes.</p><p> </p><p>More specifically, in the Sustainable Farming Incentive pilot, land managers are supported through monitoring and site visits to track how they are delivering their outcomes, with final reporting on the impact and value for money of the SFI pilot being delivered in 2025. Monitoring and evaluation of the SFI23 offer is underway, working closely with land managers to understand their experiences in the scheme and their ability to deliver effectively, and this year we will begin utilising a mixed methods research approach using field surveys, modelling and expert assessments of the effectiveness of the sustainable management achieved under the scheme to assess the impact of this offer. Countryside Stewardship has a long history of impact monitoring and evaluation, with data collected spanning nearly 25 years for some holdings within the scheme. This work continues and will adapt and combine with the SFI monitoring and evaluation programme as the Combined Offer is realised. Within Landscape Recovery, each project is responsible for developing and delivering on their monitoring, evaluation, and learning strategy and there is also scheme-level monitoring and evaluation which is helping us learn about scheme effectiveness to enable ongoing improvements. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/02/2024 answer text <p>On 12 February, the Government announced that Ofwat will be consulting on banning water bosses from receiving bonuses if a company has committed serious criminal breaches.</p><p> </p><p>No one should profit from illegal behaviour and water company bosses should take responsibility for inexcusable breaches damaging the environment.</p><p> </p><p>Ofwat will be taking forward a consultation to define the criteria for a ban. We are keeping the situation under close review, including through the UK Agriculture Market Monitoring Group, which monitors UK agricultural markets including price, supply, inputs, trade and recent developments. We also continue our engagement with industry to supplement our analysis with real time intelligence.</p><p> </p><p>In addition to this, we are providing expert business support to farmers under the Future Farming Resilience Fund. One of the key required outcomes for the Resilience Fund is that farmers’ mental health and wellbeing are supported, where required.
