As a result of these discussions, the Government committed to an independent review of all the evidence relating to a possible link between hormone pregnancy tests and adverse effects on pregnancy. An ad-hoc Expert Working Group of the Commission on Human Medicines is conducting this review and has so far met on five occasions. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/11/2016 answer text <p>As with all vaccines and medicines, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is monitoring the safety of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in the United Kingdom. The MHRA takes advice from the Government's independent expert advisory body, the Commission on Human Medicines, when evaluating the risks and benefits of medicines and vaccines. The MHRA's current assessment is that available evidence does not support a causal link between the HPV vaccination and development of chronic illnesses, and that the benefits in protecting against cervical cancer and other HPV-related disease outweigh the possible known side effects of the vaccines.</p><p> </p><p>Separately, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) carried out reviews of HPV vaccine safety in June 2015 and also advised that available evidence does not support a causal link between the HPV vaccine and development of chronic illnesses. Decisions related to the commissioning of treatments in England are made by NHS England. These decisions are based on clinical evidence, including international studies, and are kept under review. In the case of second stem cell transplants for patients with relapsed disease the risks of the treatment must be weighed against the potential long-term benefits.</p><p> </p><p>Following a review of the most recent clinical evidence NHS England announced on 24 February 2017 that second transplants would routinely be made available for patients in England with relapsed disease. The tests may be conducted at school but can be carried out elsewhere depending upon the arrangements in the local area.</p><p> </p><p>The UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC) advises Ministers and the National Health Service about all aspects of screening policy and supports implementation. Using research evidence, pilot programmes and economic evaluation, it assesses the evidence for programmes against a set of internationally recognised criteria.</p><p> </p><p>In November 2013 the UK NSC re-affirmed its recommendation that child vision screening between four and five years of age should be offered by an orthoptic-led service. In making decisions on the level of funding, clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) are expected to take account of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) fertility guideline recommending that three full cycles of IVF should be provided for qualifying couples. On 10 February 2017 I wrote to the National Medical Director, Sir Bruce Keogh, to ask that NHS England re-emphasise to all those involved in commissioning fertility services that they should have regard to the NICE fertility guideline as it currently stands.</p><p> </p><p>I refer the hon.
