	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/10/2014 answer text <p>The Department has not conducted any recent research on the effect of treatment of staff on standards of care and on the relationship between levels of pay and quality of social care services.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>As part of the development of Caring for our Future white paper in 2011, the Department undertook extensive engagement with both service users and carers who highlighted range of issues they felt needed addressing to ensure high quality care and support is available. This is why the Government is committing to publishing a Green Paper by summer 2018 setting out its proposals for reform.</p><p> </p><p>In developing the Green Paper, it is right that we take the time needed to debate the many complex issues and listen to the perspectives of experts and care users, building consensus around reforms which can succeed. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/11/2017 answer text <p>The Department has prioritised prevention and through the Care Act 2014 it requires local authorities to provide or arrange for the provision of services, facilities or resources that will contribute towards preventing, delaying or reducing the needs for care and support of adults and carers.</p><p> </p><p>For 2017/18, the Department has provided £7.274 million funding to the Local Government Association to provide sector led improvement support to councils. This includes support to help councils meet their prevention responsibilities. Friend the First Secretary of State and Minister for the Cabinet Office, Damian Green, has announced this month that the Government will publish a Green Paper on care and support for older people by summer 2018. The Green Paper will set out proposals to reform care and support for older people.</p><p> </p><p>With the shifts we are seeing in society, including our ageing population, caring will increasingly become a core part of family life for all of us. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/11/2018 answer text <p>Social care is funded through a combination of central government grants, council tax and business rates which in the past have remained stable sources of income through economic downturns.</p><p>The Government conducts an ongoing assessment of the sustainability of the local government system. This is a dynamic assessment which reflects emerging analysis of pressures and risks and is kept under review.</p><p>The Government is dedicated to supporting the adult social care system and as such has given councils access to up to £3.6 billion more dedicated funding for adult social care in 2018-19 and up to £3.9 billion for 2019-20. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/12/2018 answer text <p>NHS Digital statistics record that, in 2017/18, there were 32,115 new requests for services from applicants who were deceased before they received the package. This data records requests for care, not individual deaths as requested, and represents approximately 1.7% of total new requests.</p><p> </p><p>This first mandatory collection of this date was in 2017/18, with complete data for years prior to 2017/18 not available. The data was first collected in 2016/17 via a voluntary collection from local authorities where less than a quarter of local authorities submitted a response.
