The first students in the programme will start in Autumn this year.</p><p>(b) Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund covering the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership areas</p><p>The Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund is a £3 million fund aiming to boost digital skills training through short, responsive courses that will help employers recruit to hard to fill digital roles. The fund is estimated to train 741 individuals, with 158 courses completed to date, including:</p><ul><li><p>50 course completions within cloud engineering</p></li><li><p>48 course completions in software development</p></li><li><p>24 courses completions in digital marketing</p></li><li><p>19 course competitions in DevOps</p></li><li><p>16 course completion in Linux engineering</p></li></ul><p>(c) Digital Skills Innovation Fund and The Digital Inclusion Innovation Fund</p><p>The Digital Inclusion Innovation Fund was a £400,000 fund supporting older and disabled people, particularly those in rural areas. The 3 pilot projects impacted a total of 1672 individuals, including:</p><ul><li><p>1094 digital learners in the Living Smart Homes project in West Essex</p></li><li><p>55 patients in end of life care, their carers and patient care volunteers in the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust</p></li><li><p>523 users of the Down’s Syndrome Association’s HealthSwap app</p></li></ul><p>The Digital Skills Innovation Fund is a £1.1m fund supporting underrepresented groups or people from disadvantaged backgrounds get into digital roles or further training. 733 individuals have completed or nearly completed training from four pilot projects, including:</p><ul><li><p>The Heart of South West pilot helped 194 individuals over 12 months retrain and prepare for or advance a career in digital, primarily supporting women in small businesses. It focused on the 20% most deprived wards in the region.</p></li><li><p>Lancashire’s programme has 105 participants, who have completed or near completed women in business workshops, digital marketing, and IT Ready training. The programme is supporting unemployed residents from disadvantaged wards.</p></li><li><p>Sheffield City Region and Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s pilot supported women and autistic people gain demand-led digital skills. The pilot had 246 participants.</p></li><li><p>West of England’s programme supported women, particularly those living in deprived neighbourhoods, acquire skills for digital roles. The programme had 188 participants, with 28 completing a formal, recognised training course, 24 receiving advice and guidance on accessing digital jobs, and 166 completing ‘taster’ or other introductory sessions.</p></li></ul><p>(d) Six Local Digital Skills Partnerships</p><p>DCMS provides £75,000 per year to fund a Regional Coordinator, rather than training provision, in each Local Digital Skills Partnership. Regional Coordinators play an important role within the Local Enterprise Partnership/ Combined Authority to bring together cross-sector partners to co-design and deliver provision aligned to local needs, tackling local digital skills gaps, advancing digital inclusion, while contributing to regional economic growth.</p><p>(e) The Grenfell Digital Skills programme</p><p>The Grenfell Digital Skills Programme went live in November 2019. So far 292 sessions from 10 courses have been attended by 75 individuals.</p><p>(f) Code4000’s Coding in Prisons programme</p><p>DCMS provided a £100,000 grant to Code4000 to support their coding workshops in prisons. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/03/2021 answer text <p><del class="ministerial">In negotiations with the EU, the UK proposed expanding a list of activities for Short Term Business Visitors to cover musicians, artists and their accompanying staff. This would have enabled musicians, artists and support staff to tour and perform in the EU without needing work-permits. I deeply regret that the EU rejected our proposals.There is scope to return to this issue in the future should the EU change its mind.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">UK performers and artists are of course still able to tour and perform in the EU, and vice versa. However, they will be required to check domestic immigration rules for each Member State in which they intend to tour. This is because, while some Member States may allow paid performances without a visa or work permit, others will require musicians, artists and other creative professionals to obtain a visa or work permit, in the same way that they are required for other international artists.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The Government is looking at how we can work with our partners in EU Member States to find ways to make life easier for the creative industries touring in the EU.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">We understand the concerns of the sector regarding the new arrangements and we are committed to supporting them as they get to grips with the changes to systems and processes. The DCMS-led working group on creative and cultural touring, which involves sector representatives and other key government departments, is looking at the issues and options to help the sectors resume touring with ease as soon as it is safe to do so.</del></p><p> </p><p><ins class="ministerial">Protecting children is at the heart of our online harms agenda, and wider government priorities. Under our proposals, social media, websites, apps and other services which host user-generated content or facilitate online user interaction (including video and image sharing, commenting and live streaming) will be subject to a duty of care, giving them new responsibilities towards their users. The online harms regime will capture both the most visited pornography sites and pornography on social media, therefore covering the vast majority of sites where children are most likely to be exposed to pornography.</ins></p><p> </p><p><ins class="ministerial">We expect companies to use age assurance or age verification technologies to prevent children from accessing services which pose the highest risk of harm to children, such as online pornography. Guidance has been published by Arts Council England, the British Film Institute, Historic England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund for applicants to the Culture Recovery Grants application rounds, and by Arts Council England for applicants to the Repayable Finance Scheme. Further details on eligibility and application processes are available in the published guidance.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">This funding will provide targeted support to organisations across a range of sectors, with one of our core objectives being to support the cultural organisations that are crucial to places across the whole country. We will ensure that funding is distributed fairly, and that smaller organisations and cultural venues that are at the centre of their communities are protected.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">We also recognise the crucial role that individuals play in making our arts and creative industries world-leading. As a result of these grants and loans, organisations will be more able to resume cultural activity, albeit in a socially distanced way, which will increase employment opportunities for freelancers.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">&quot;DCMS recognise that these are extremely challenging times for freelancers, and understand the crucial role they play in making our arts and creative industries world-leading. We are working hard to ensure that we help to provide financial support to freelancers during this period.</ins></p><p> </p><p><ins class="ministerial">On 5 July, DCMS announced a major £1.57 billion support package for key cultural organisations to help them through the coronavirus pandemic. This funding will provide targeted support to organisations across a range of sectors, including performing arts and theatres, museums and galleries, heritage sites, live music venues and independent cinema.</ins></p><p> </p><p><ins class="ministerial">As a result of these grants and loans, organisations will be more able to resume cultural activity, albeit in a socially distanced way, which will increase employment opportunities for freelancers. Each organisation that receives money will know what best they can do to support their workforce, including their freelance workforce. </ins></p><p> </p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme has also been extended with applications opening in August for a second and final grant. The grant will operate in the same way as the existing scheme with self-employed workers eligible for a single payment covering three months, at a level of 70% of average monthly earnings up to a maximum of £6,570 (i.e. down from 80% and a maximum of £7,500).</ins></p><p> </p><p><ins class="ministerial">Alongside this funding, ACE have announced £95m of additional support for individuals, which can include freelancers. This involves things such as an additional £75m in project grants. These will be focused on applications that maximise employment opportunities and those from under-represented groups and freelancers are eligible to apply to this directly. National Portfolio Organisations can also apply to create new work with bids that create employment opportunities prioritised. A further round of the ACE programme ‘Discover Your Creative Practice’ will also open in the autumn, which will make approximately £18m available for individuals looking to develop new creative skills that will help them to further develop their career. The joint declaration on post-diagnostic dementia care and support is an unequivocal joint commitment between the Government, health, social care, and the third sector to improve care and support for people with dementia.</ins></strong></p><p> </p><p><strong><ins class="ministerial">Local clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) are responsible for services and support for people with dementia. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/07/2021 answer text <p><strong> </strong></p><p>My department continues to work closely with its Arm’s Length Body, the British Film Institute (BFI), to ensure it meets the full range of its responsibilities, including to support the film sector nationwide. In its ongoing support for Scottish production, the Government has worked with the BFI to ensure a wide range of funding and initiatives are available to support Scottish production and the development of talent.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Examples of support that have been given to the Scottish film industry include the BFI Film Fund, the BFI NETWORK and the BFI Film Audience Network, which use National Lottery Funding for development, production, distribution and promotion, supporting Scottish films, Scottish audiences and emerging Scottish filmmakers. The BFI Film Fund has funded a number of Scottish projects including The Origin, which was shot in the Scottish Highlands in October 2020.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The British Film Commission (BFC), a national body predominantly funded by DCMS, also supports and promotes UK-wide film and high-end television production, including in Scotland. It works in close partnership with Screen Scotland, the national screen agency for Scotland funded by the Scottish Government and the National Lottery. Scotland is featured as part of all BFC marketing campaigns and assets, including show reels, websites and brochures, that are designed to facilitate film making and promote British locations, and the BFC facilitates regular business development meetings with international film and television clients. These meetings include representatives from all UK nations, including Scotland.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Following the outbreak of Covid-19 the Government has worked closely with the UK Nations to ensure Covid-secure production guidance supports safe production for film and high-end television in Scotland and across the UK. Screen Scotland has been part of the Screen Sector Taskforce, coordinated by the BFI, which helped to develop the guidance and has also looked at the impact of Covid and recovery measures for the sector, in collaboration with DCMS. In addition, the UK-wide £500 million Film and TV Production Restart Scheme is getting nationwide TV and film productions that have been halted or delayed by a lack of insurance back up and running, by giving productions the confidence they need that they will be supported if losses are incurred due to Covid-19.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>VisitBritain also uses high profile filming locations as part of its international tourism marketing activity.
