This includes both physical and mental health. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/12/2018 answer text <p>The Mental Health Data Set, published by NHS Digital, sets out the number of referrals received by National Health Service specialist children’s mental health services and those that go on to receive treatment.</p><p> </p><p>There are many reasons why a referral to NHS children’s mental health services might be rejected – some cases are not appropriate for NHS treatment and there are more appropriate sources of help. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/12/2018 answer text <p>We have made an additional £1.4 billion available for children’s mental health service transformation and are on track to ensure that an additional 70,000 children and young people access community mental health services annually by 2020/21.</p><p> </p><p>We have introduced two waiting time standards for children and young people and are on track to meet both of these standards. The first aims for 95% of children (up to 19 years old) with eating disorders to receive treatment within a week for urgent cases and four weeks for routine cases. The second aims for 50% of patients of all ages experiencing a first episode of psychosis to receive treatment within two weeks of referral.</p><p> </p><p>Our Children and Young People’s Green Paper, jointly published with the Department for Education, sets out how we plan to go further. We are piloting a four-week waiting time to improve access to services and are introducing new mental health support teams. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/01/2019 answer text <p>There are no current plans for such an inquiry.</p><p> </p><p>The Government and the National Health Service are taking forward a number of initiatives to support ex-service personnel with mental health issues.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England commissions two bespoke services for ex-service personnel. The first is the Transition, Intervention and Liaison Service, which supports serving personnel who need additional support as they are leaving the armed forces and veterans who have mental health issues. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/01/2019 answer text <p>On 9 May 2018, the Minister of State for Digital and the Creative Industries (Margot James MP), announced that the Government will be amending the data request arrangements covered under a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between NHS Digital, the Home Office and the Department of Health and Social Care. This would narrow when the Home Office can request non-clinical information from NHS Digital to very limited circumstances.</p><p>The Department commissioned a review from Public Health England (PHE) in 2017 into the impact on public health and health-seeking behaviour of the previous MOU, which was withdrawn on 9 November 2018. The Department has asked PHE to extend their review to provide advice on the potential impact of the narrowed scope of a new MOU. Therefore, the attached data is from the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) dataset only.</p><p> </p><p>IAPT is run by the National Health Service in England and offers National Institute for Health and Care Excellence-approved therapies for treating people with anxiety and depression. Data about the IAPT programme is available from April 2012 and it is therefore not possible to provide data for years prior to this.</p><p> </p><p>The IAPT dataset records whether a referral is for a patient who has been a member of the British Armed Forces (BAF). It is not possible to identify the type of Armed Forces Service that the patient belonged to, or whether the patient was a regular or reserve veteran.</p><p> </p><p>The number of referrals for ex-BAF personnel that have been received, entered treatment and finished a course of treatment for all years up to 2017-18, grouped by the type of diagnosis problem, submitted as an ICD-10 code, are displayed in the attached tables.</p><p> </p><p>NHS Digital does not hold any further information about ex-BAF personnel with mental health problems.
