star this property answer text <p>The UK Marine Strategy puts in place the framework for achieving good environmental status in UK waters. A recent consultation on the progress made towards GES showed that whilst progress was being made further work was needed.</p><p> </p><p>The updated UK Marine Strategy Part I assesses an array of ocean health factors as well as economic and social analyses of the way we use our marine environment and the benefits it provides us. The updated assessments will be published later this year, giving improved information to the scientists working on the UK’s Ocean Assessment Score.</p><p> </p><p>The UK is already a global leader in protecting seas, the ocean and marine life. Our work includes the creation of 355 Marine Protected Areas protecting 25% of UK waters, including the recent designation of 41 Marine Conservation Zones. On 8 June we announced a review into Highly Protected Marine Areas in England, which is due to report by early 2020.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>In 2015, there were just over 400,000 visits by US residents to Scotland, with a total spend of £390.9 million. Although tourism is devolved, Visit Britain work with Visit Scotland to promote the whole of the UK overseas. This includes a £10m, three year marketing partnership with Expedia, which is specifically aimed at the US market. Additionally, the Prime Minister's Tourism Action Plan is working to encourage visitors to explore the whole of the UK and grow the industry as a whole.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The transportation of Defence Nuclear Material, which includes nuclear weapons, is carried out to the highest standard in accordance with stringent safety regulations. Any potential issue with a convoy vehicle, no matter how minor, is treated seriously and may result in a short unscheduled stop to carry out vehicle checks to ensure that safety is maintained.</p><p>Since 2000 there have been 57 unscheduled stops of this nature. None posed any risk to the public, environment, or to any material being transported.</p> more like this
