Effective enforcement is a key element of the Good Work Plan, which sets out the biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation.</p><p>Casting websites in the acting sector can already meet the definition of an employment agency, as set out in the Employment Agencies Act 1973. If they meet the definition, they need to comply with the current legislation, which includes specific regulations that cover acting and background extras agencies.</p><p>The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 includes certain requirements in relation to advertising by employment agencies and such requirements are enforced by the Employment Agency Standards (EAS) Inspectorate.</p><p>EAS work with other enforcement partners, such as HMRC who enforce National Minimum Wage legislation. But on this historic occasion the Government wants to ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to pay a fitting tribute to our heroes of the Second World War on the 75th anniversary of VE Day. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/06/2019 answer text <p>An individual’s eligibility for statutory employment protections in the UK is determined by their employment status and not the type of work they do, or label given to the arrangement. Individuals who are on a zero hours contract, part-time contract, or any other type of flexible arrangement can still be eligible for the same statutory employment rights as any permanent, full-time individual if they are doing the same work.</p><p> </p><p>The latest figures show that the proportion of people on zero hours contracts remains small (2.6 per cent of the labour force). 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/07/2019 answer text <p>The 2014 revision to the Right to Request Flexible Working provided all employees with the same access to flexible working, seeking to eliminate the view that flexible working is only for parents/carers.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is keen to ensure that the existing “right to request” legislation continues to have the desired effect and has committed to review its impact in 2020. Government has also announced that it will consult on asking employers to consider whether a job can be done flexibly, and to make that clear when advertising.</p><p> </p><p>In parallel, the Government is looking to work with employers on a voluntary basis. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2019 answer text <p>We are committed to taking robust enforcement action to ensure that everyone who is entitled to the National Minimum or Living Wage receives it.</p><p> </p><p>We have more than doubled the budget for minimum wage compliance and enforcement since 2015; it is now at a record high of £27.4 million.</p><p> </p><p>To clarify, since 1999, minimum wage arrears worth over £118 million have been paid to 835,000 workers.
