We know the serious impact that persistent ASB can have on both individuals and the wider community. Last year the <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1015382/Crime-plan-v10.pdf" target="_blank"><em>Beating Crime Plan</em></a> laid out the Government’s plan for tackling crime and ASB and committed to working with local agencies and partners to drive down ASB using the full range of powers and tools in the<em> ‘2014 Act’</em>.</p><p>The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 provides a range of flexible tools and powers to local agencies to tackle anti-social behaviour. Local areas decide how best to deploy these powers depending on the specific circumstances. The Office for National Statistics annually publishes anti-social behaviour incidents reported to the police by Police Force Area and no further lower level breakdown is currently available.</p><p>Police recorded ASB incidents for the West Midlands were on a steady decline pre-Covid-19 with a 40% fall in 2019-20 when compared with 2016-17. The overall number of ASB incidents in England &amp; Wales also fell (24%) pre-Covid-19 but to a lesser degree than in West Midlands. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/11/2022 answer text <p>The Home Office published statutory guidance to support local policing to make effective use of the powers in the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. The guidance sets out the importance of focusing on the needs of the victim and the local community, as well as ensuring that the relevant legal tests are met. This guidance was updated in June 2022 to ensure a victim-centered approach to tackling ASB as well as stronger use of the powers and tools in the 2014 Act.</p><p>It is for Chief Constables and Police and Crime Commissioners, as operational leaders and elected local representatives respectively, to decide how best to respond to local priorities and to help ensure the police have the resources they need; we have given them the biggest funding increase in a decade and are enabling policing to recruit 20,000 additional officers over the next three years.</p><p>As at 30 September 2022, Staffordshire Police has recruited 265 additional uplift officers against a total three year allocation of 300 officers.</p> answering member constituency Croydon South answering member printed Chris Philp question first answered 08/11/2022 16:37:17 answering member 4503 label Biography information for Chris Philp

An MoU is a common mechanism for establishing an arrangement or partnership between countries.</p><p>The MoU was negotiated with close care and attention to ensure that assurances were in place to ensure the partnership operated appropriately, with a strong regard to the welfare of those it concerns, and in line with both parties’ international obligations. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/07/2022 answer text <p>The Migration and Economic Development Partnership will see those travelling to the UK through illegal, dangerous and unnecessary methods and whose asylum claims are inadmissible to the UK’s asylum system, considered for relocation to Rwanda, where they will have their asylum claim processed.</p><p>The partnership recognises the need for international co-operation and partnership on migration and Rwanda will host both asylum seekers and migrants and offer them legal pathways to settle there.</p><p>For those granted protection in Rwanda, individuals will be supported to build a safe and prosperous new life. Those whose claims for protection are rejected will either be offered the chance to stay in Rwanda and be granted alternative immigration status, or return to their home country.</p><p>Anyone who wishes to settle in Rwanda will have their needs met. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/06/2023 answer text <p>The Windrush Compensation Scheme staff are working hard to ensure cases are prioritised for claimants with critical or life-limiting illnesses.</p><p>In the unfortunate circumstances where a claimant has passed away after submitting a compensation claim, before the claim is fully resolved, the team continues to work closely with the appointed representative, usually members of the family, to ensure the compensation payment is made as quickly as possible to the family member.</p><p>At the end of April 2023, in line with the latest published Transparency data, out of the 6,122 claims received by the Windrush Compensation Scheme, we are aware of 41 claimants who have unfortunately passed away after having submitted a claim.</p><p>Please note that this data is manually recorded and is reliant on the person receiving the information on a claimant’s death, notifying the Windrush Compensation Scheme to record this information.</p> answering member constituency Newark answering member printed Robert Jenrick question first answered 20/06/2023 15:30:18 answering member 4320 label Biography information for Robert Jenrick
