These submissions covered a wide range of railway enhancements, but the department cannot make an announcement about individual schemes at this time as these proposals were submitted in confidence and such disclosure may prejudice the commercial interests of the proposers. star this property answer text <p>The Rail Sector Deal, published in December 2018, set out a new approach to partnership working between the Government and the rail supply sector. We are working closely together to ensure both that the sector has appropriate visibility of future work and that the sector is investing sufficiently in people, processes and skills that will be needed to deliver this additional investment. The Long Term Deployment Plan for the Digital Railway was published earlier this year and on 16 October we published the Rail Network Enhancements Pipeline.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The schemes listed are at different stages of development and delivery. There are different types of consent, including formal planning consent, which is not required for all schemes. Some, such as the Northumberland line, have received planning consent already.</p><p>At the current time one scheme is awaiting planning consent. The application for Cambridge South Station was submitted on the 18 June 2021. Following closure of the Inquiry on 10 June 2022, the planning inspector submitted a report and recommendation to the Secretary of State on 4 October 2022. The Secretary of State will now make a decision on the application.</p> more like this
