	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/02/2020 answer text <p>The Government undertakes regular reviews of our preparedness for the risks facing the UK through the National Security Risk Assessment (NSRA) and National Resilience Capabilities Programme (NRCP). This includes the risk from foreign investment into critical national infrastructure.</p><p>In addition, the Government considers any national security implications arising from foreign investment on a case-by-case basis, including in investments in Critical National Infrastructure. The Government’s approach is predicated on a risk assessment based on the specific circumstances of the case.</p><p>The Government’s current powers to intervene in mergers that may raise national security concerns are contained in the Enterprise Act (2002), which establishes key parts of the UK’s competition regime. UK authorities continue to cooperate with their counterparts in other EU Member States bilaterally, including by using the Schengen Information System (SIS II), Europol, Eurojust, the European Arrest Warrant and other measures.</p><p>These tools, developed under the EU’s legislative framework, enable practical cooperation and information sharing, which is of value. We do not want or expect a no deal outcome. However, a responsible government should prepare for all potential outcomes. That is exactly what we are doing across the whole of Government.</p><p> </p><p>The Home Office leads on EU Exit planning across a number of justice and home affairs areas, including Immigration and Security and Law Enforcement cooperation. This includes the development and implementation of the Integrated Review Refresh. Published in March, the Refresh updated the government’s security, defence, development and foreign policy priorities to reflect changes in the global context since the Integrated Review 2021. Flowing from this, the Cabinet Office has played a key role in developing and overseeing the National Cyber Strategy, National Security and Investment Programme, and the Biological Security Strategy. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/01/2024 answer text <p>The Cabinet Office leads and coordinates the UK’s national security crisis response through the Cabinet Office Briefing Room (COBR), and national security policy through the National Security Council structures. This includes the National Cyber Strategy, National Security and Investment Programme, and the Biological Security Strategy, all of which the department is taking essential steps to deliver.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Key successes in 2023 included publishing the Integrated Review Refresh, passing the National Security Act, launching the Emergency Alerting scheme and delivering the Atlantic Declaration and risk elements of the AI Summit.
