It provides national guidance, advice and published quality standards to improve health and social care, including on children’s mental health, for example, guidance on social and emotional wellbeing in primary education and quality standards on the promotion of health and wellbeing in under fives.<p>The proposals set out in our Children and Young People’s Mental Health Green Paper will ensure that interventions delivered by new Mental Health Support Teams are in accordance with NICE guidance and advice. Research has identified that younger donors offer the potential for better patient outcomes and a greater chance of survival. In 2017, 82% of people who were selected to donate their stem cells were male, and 58% were men aged 30 and under. In acknowledgement of this fact, the Department provides funding to Anthony Nolan and NHS Blood and Transplant to support recruitment of young male donors. In 2017 69% of new potential donors recruited to the United Kingdom registry were under the age of 30, and 40% of new potential donors were male.</p><p> </p><p>The Department also funds Anthony Nolan and NHS Blood and Transplant to improve equity of access to unrelated donor stem cell transplantation for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) patients through targeted recruitment to the Anthony Nolan and the NHS Stem Cell Registry.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has provided more than £26 million to NHS Blood and Transplant and Anthony Nolan for stem cell donation since 2011 and have set very specific targets about the proportion of donors that must be from BAME backgrounds; for example, in this financial year, Anthony Nolan will continue to target more than 35% of the umbilical cords stored in the UK Cord Blood Bank to be donated by mothers from BAME backgrounds.</p> answering member constituency Thurrock answering member printed Jackie Doyle-Price question first answered 26/10/2018 11:53:19 answering member 4065 label Biography information for Dame Jackie Doyle-Price

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/11/2018 answer text <p>Xanax is a licensed medicine and is scheduled under the Misuse of Drugs Act (Class C) for which the Home Office is responsible. Its availability on the NHS is limited. It could only be obtained through the legitimate supply chain as an unlicensed “Special” if an available licensed medicine could not meet patients’ clinical needs. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has found no evidence of diversion of Xanax from the legitimate supply chain. There have therefore been no prosecutions in relation to the diversion of Xanax from the legitimate supply chain. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/11/2018 answer text <p>Work on developing mental health support teams for schools forms part of the work to implement the proposals set out in the Green Paper, ‘Transforming children and young people’s mental health provision’. The first wave of recruitment for the Educational Mental Health Practitioners who will form part of these teams is now under way and 210 people will take their places on specialist training courses from January 2019. These trainees will start working in schools during 2019. The initial local areas, or trailblazer sites, that will trial the Green Paper proposals will be announced by the end of the year.
