	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/06/2019 answer text <p>The Government agreed with the BBC at the 2015 funding settlement that responsibility for the over 75s licence fee concession transfers to the BBC from June 2020. The BBC has decided to restrict the concession to those over 75 in receipt of Pension Credit, and has outlined a number of measures to keep those affected informed and encourage take up of Pension Credit. These measures include running outreach events and a public information campaign, and working with older people’s groups, charities and voluntary organisations. As the Secretary of State said in the House on 12 June 2019: ’the BBC is a fundamental part of the social and economic fabric of this country. It is important for people of all ages, but particularly older people who value television as a way to stay connected with the world’. The Licence Fee is part of a funding settlement agreed with the BBC as part of the Royal Charter.
