star this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">In March 2022, the Government published a consultation package with the UK ETS (Emissions Trading Scheme) Authority, exploring options to expand the scheme to include emissions from domestic maritime. The Government response to the consultation will be published in due course.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The UK is pressing for greater ambition during the review of the International Maritime Organization Initial Greenhouse Gas Strategy in July and continues to monitor developments of international and regional carbon pricing instruments covering shipping to consider how they may interact with our domestic policy.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The Government keeps all taxes under review and any changes are announced by the Chancellor at fiscal events.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">On 3 July 2023 the UK ETS (Emission Trading Scheme) Authority confirmed its plans to expand the UK ETS to include emissions from domestic maritime, following on from our commitment to explore economic incentives in the Transport Decarbonisation Plan.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial"> </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The UK is pressing for greater ambition during the review of the International Maritime Organization Initial Greenhouse Gas Strategy in July and continues to monitor developments of international and regional carbon pricing instruments covering shipping to consider how they may interact with our domestic policy.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial"> </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The government keeps all taxes under review and any changes are announced by the Chancellor at fiscal events.</ins></p>

star this property answer text <p>Almost all local authorities in England have now taken on civil enforcement powers for parking and bus lane contraventions, and the Department for Transport is engaged in discussions with several local authorities which have not yet adopted these powers but are interested in doing so. It is for each local authority to determine how it wishes to apply these powers, subject to the restrictions of legislation and statutory guidance. The Department has no current plans to enable local authorities outside London to take on civil enforcement powers for moving traffic offences, which are a matter for the police.</p> more like this

Officials have invited representatives from departmental trades unions to join a number of informal steering groups relating to the programme. At the request of the trades unions my officials have kept them informed of progress through written communication on 6 October 2017 and 12 January 2018. On 30 April 2018 and 6 July 2018 representatives from departmental trades unions were invited to carry out a pre-inspection of Windsor House prior to the move of DfT staff into the building. My officials will provide a further update to the trades unions at key stages in the programme and will be invited to comment.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department has engaged Mace and their subcontractors to carry out Project Management and Full Design services in relation to the Modernising our Working Environment (MoWE) programme. Shore Engineering, who are a Corporate Approved Inspector authorised by the Government to carry out the building control and Principle Designer functions for building work anywhere in England and Wales, were appointed as a subcontractor to provide and collate specific information on risks or other such hazards identified during the Pre-Construction and Design stages of the project. Further Gensler (who are the Lead Designer and Architects) maintain design risk management registers. This information on risks will be completed by the end of RIBA stage 4 to be included in the Pre-Construction Information to the shortlisted tenderers. Once complete these registers will be shared with departmental trades unions.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, a risk assessment on Security Threat been carried out by Mace or their subcontractors on behalf of the Department. This has not been shared with trades unions.</p>
