There are a basic set of expectations for nursing and medical care post-surgery which apply to children. For example, they must be anaesthetised by anaesthetists competent in its administration; be looked after by teams dedicated to their care, who have received the necessary training; and be cared for in an appropriate environment. Each nursing school sets its own curriculum. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/11/2018 answer text <p>Hypertension or high blood pressure during pregnancy (known as pre-eclampsia) is the most common medical problem that is encountered in pregnancy. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance, ‘Hypertension in pregnancy: diagnosis and management’, is aimed at healthcare professionals and women who develop hypertension during pregnancy. The guidance aims to improve care during pregnancy, labour and birth for women and their babies.</p><p> </p><p>Most clinical activity relating to pre-eclampsia is focused on diagnosing the condition as early as possible and managing the condition when it has been identified. NHS England expects providers of maternity care to pay due regard to NICE guidelines on diagnosing and managing pre-eclampsia. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/12/2018 answer text <p>In the United Kingdom, strict regulatory controls govern the sale, supply, manufacture, distribution and advertising of medicinal products.</p><p> </p><p>Although no fatalities in the UK have been attributed to a falsified medicine sourced from the UK regulated supply chain, the potential threat to patient health is recognised and taken seriously across Government.</p><p> </p><p>No incidents of a falsified medicine reaching a patient through the regulated supply chain have been recorded since 2009. However, if such an incidence occurs, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has strategies in place to ensure immediate and proportionate action is taken, including a thorough investigation and withdrawal of the medicines from circulation.</p><p> </p><p>The majority of illegal activity involving medicines takes place online and MHRA efforts to tackle this are focussed both on the supply and demand. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/12/2018 answer text <p>Making sure that young people and parents or carers can give informed consent is an important aspect of the work undertaken when young people request a physical intervention for gender dysphoria. NHS England has published a service specification ‘NHS Standard Contract for Gender Identity Development Service For Children And Adolescents’ which refers throughout to the input of parents/carers and families. A copy of this service specification has been attached.</p><p> </p><p>For young people of 16 and under, consent to treatment should usually be sought from the child and from one or both parents, except under exceptional circumstances. For adolescents over 16, if it is concluded that they have sufficient understanding of what is to be offered (this is known as ‘Gillick’ or ‘Fraser’ competence), they may give their own consent to treatment, although under most circumstances, it is good practice to seek parental assent too.
