	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/07/2019 answer text <p>The waiting time standard for children and young people to start treatment for a routine eating disorder within four weeks is not currently applicable for adults.</p><p>The Government is aware of the importance of early intervention when treating people with an eating disorder and we recognise that the earlier treatment is provided, the greater the chance of recovery.</p><p>The Government set up the first ever waiting time standards to improve access to eating disorder services for children and young people, supported by £30 million a year to develop 70 new or extended community eating disorder services across the country. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/04/2019 answer text <p>It is the role of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to provide evidence and guidance to the National Health Service on healthcare. NICE has published guidance on the recognition and treatment of people with eating disorders. NICE guidelines are based on the best available evidence, with recommendations put together by clinical experts, people using services, carers and the public.</p><p> </p><p>The ‘eating disorders: recognition and treatment guideline’ (NG 69) was published in 2004 and revised in 2017. It includes information on inpatient and day patient treatment, and monitoring people not in treatment. It is available at the following link:</p><p> </p><p><a href="https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/NG69" target="_blank">https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/NG69</a></p><p> </p><p>For waiting times, NHS England commissioned the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health (NCCMH) to develop the ‘Access and Waiting Time Standard for Children and Young People with an Eating Disorder’ Commissioning Guide. The guidance sets out how commissioners and providers should improve treatment pathways to meet the access and waiting time standard.</p><p> </p><p>To inform the work of the team that drafted the guide, the NCCMH set up an Expert Reference Group made up of professionals and clinicians from specialist and technical areas. The proposals will be field tested at a selection of pilot sites across England, before wider implementation. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/12/2018 answer text <p>We have made an additional £1.4 billion available for children’s mental health service transformation and are on track to ensure that an additional 70,000 children and young people access community mental health services annually by 2020/21.</p><p> </p><p>We have introduced two waiting time standards for children and young people and are on track to meet both of these standards. The first aims for 95% of children (up to 19 years old) with eating disorders to receive treatment within a week for urgent cases and four weeks for routine cases. The second aims for 50% of patients of all ages experiencing a first episode of psychosis to receive treatment within two weeks of referral.</p><p> </p><p>Our Children and Young People’s Green Paper, jointly published with the Department for Education, sets out how we plan to go further. We are piloting a four-week waiting time to improve access to services and are introducing new mental health support teams. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/01/2019 answer text <p>There are no current plans for such an inquiry.</p><p> </p><p>The Government and the National Health Service are taking forward a number of initiatives to support ex-service personnel with mental health issues.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England commissions two bespoke services for ex-service personnel. The first is the Transition, Intervention and Liaison Service, which supports serving personnel who need additional support as they are leaving the armed forces and veterans who have mental health issues.
