star this property answer text <p>In November 2016, the Government delivered major mobile planning reforms in England in November 2016, which have made it easier for Mobile Network Operators to roll out mobile infrastructure more quickly and introduced new rights to build taller masts. In addition, the housing White Paper <em>Fixing our Broken Housing Market,</em> published earlier this year consulted on proposals to amend national planning policy so that local planning authorities are expected to have planning policies setting out how high quality digital infrastructure will be delivered in their area and be available from a range of providers.</p><p>The Government is working closely with the industry to assess whether there are any further planning issues which can be overcome to improve mobile connectivity</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Under the Coastal Communities Fund we have funded 278 projects worth over £170 million across the UK. These are forecast to deliver over 18,000 jobs and generate £363 million in new visitor expenditure. Round 5 of the Fund opens in early 2018 and will provide a further opportunity for coastal communities to apply for grants to support jobs and growth in their area.</p><p>We have also provided £1.46 million to support 146 Coastal Community Teams along the English coast. The teams bring together the local authority, community and businesses to develop an Economic Plan to set out both short term and longer term priorities to enable their area to promote economic growth.</p><p>Local Growth Deals are also providing coastal Local Enterprise Partnerships with funding to promote economic growth and job creation in their coastal communities.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Housing White Paper set out the Government’s ambitious programme to bring brownfield land back into use in England. We have already introduced a requirement for local planning authorities to publish a statutory brownfield land register by the end of 2017, which will identify which previously developed sites are suitable for housing. Local authorities will be able to grant permission in principle, on suitable sites in their registers. This will provide early certainty about the suitability of sites for housing-led development before detailed and often costly development proposals need to be provided. Permission in principle will reduce risk for developers and improve the efficiency of the planning process for the benefit of all users.</p><p>It is our intention to introduce permission in principle by application for small sites later in the year, and we expect this will be a particularly helpful tool for small and medium sized builders developing on brownfield land.</p> more like this

This means ensuring all those affected can benefit from the £200 million grant schemes offered by the Government and know that they can do so.</p><p>We have provided information on the Gov.uk website and have worked with local authorities to ensure their websites are up to date. We have also developed a simple fact sheet for individual property owners explaining the Property Level Resilience grant scheme and how to apply for it.</p><p>We are in regular contact with local areas and are continuing to look at ways to help support their residents and businesses take full advantage of the grants available.</p> more like this
