	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/11/2018 answer text <p>57 countries have adopted the London 2018 Declaration committing to action to protect endangered species around the globe, with more expected to sign. This important pledge of international action reflects the success of the Illegal Wildlife Trade Conference in London in October, which was attended by more than 70 countries and more than 400 organisations. The conference focused the minds of international governments on the issue and energized global cooperation to fight the illegal wildlife trade. This totals £1,864,000 since 2015.</p><p>This figure comprises funding to the UN Department of Peacekeeping to provide key child protection staff, totalling just over £1 million from 2016-19.</p><p>Between 2015 and 2019, we will have also given £620,000 to the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, making the UK the number one donor to this Office. The Government has repeatedly raised concerns about the treatment of minorities in Burma in the Human Rights Council in September 2017 and March 2018. The Minister for the Commonwealth and the United Nations raised the UK's concerns about the persecution faced by minority groups in Burma in his speech to the Human Rights Council of 27 February 2018. Where more than one department or agency is involved, in most cases the implementing body will lead on the project-specific assessment, and the funding or coordinating body will lead on securing the necessary approval. All organisations regularly involved in security and justice assistance have a designated OSJA Lead who is responsible for ensuring consistency in the application of the OSJA Guidance in their department.</p><p>Government departments use the OSJA Guidance as a central part of their risk management procedures. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/03/2018 answer text <p>The UK is an active member of the United Nations Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict, which consists of Security Council members, and which leads the international response on the issues of child soldiers and child protection. We work particularly closely with allies and like-minded states on the Council, notably France, the Netherlands and Sweden, to advance common efforts and UK objectives in this area.</p><p>In November 2017, my colleague Lord Ahmad, the Minister for the Commonwealth and the United Nations, participated in an open debate of the UN Security Council on Children in Armed Conflict, focused on the findings of the UN Secretary-General's 2017 Annual Report. The Government is assessing whether the introduction of these new northbound flights in the Straits will have any impact on aviation in the region.
