unstar this property answer text
We have noted with interest the findings from Agenda's report 'Joining the Dots'.

Domestic abuse is a devastating crime and we are determined to ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, should receive the support they need when they need it. In our Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy, launched earlier this year, we set out our ambition that service reform should go further and faster to meet the needs of women and girls suffering violence, dedicating £40 million of extra funding to support victims of domestic abuse.

We have committed to a new National Statement of Expectations, which will set out for the first time our expectations for local areas in tackling all forms of violence against women and girls. To support this, we have launched a new two year fund, open to local authorities from across the country to bid for funding, providing core support for refuges and other specialist accommodation-based services, including support for victims with complex needs. The funding is also available to help local areas take the steps they need to meet the National Statement, and will be accompanied by a package of non-financial support for local areas.

We are working with a range of partners to develop and promote new, innovative services for victims with the most complex needs, drawing on the best available evidence of what works. We will take the findings of the report into consideration as we develop this work
