star this property answer text <p>While a final investment decision has not yet been made, the Ministry of Defence is working closely with Boeing to ensure they explore how Britain's defence industry could also benefit from any procurement. Boeing has confirmed that it would plan to establish an assembly line in Cambridge for the integration of the radar and aircraft, and that it would be their intent to use such a line to fulfil orders for other nations should they be secured. Through-life, we anticipate that support and training would be undertaken within the UK, directly leading to UK jobs.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We have delivered our 2015 Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR15) commitment to establish the Defence Nuclear Organisation, the Submarine Delivery Agency and the Dreadnought Alliance to strengthen our organisational, industrial and commercial arrangements for the Dreadnought submarine programme.</p><p>The Programme remains on track to deliver on schedule and within the estimated cost of £31 billion stated in the SDSR15, which also set a contingency of £10 billion.</p><p>As the Prime Minister announced in Parliament on 28 March 2018 (Official Report, column 756), the Ministry of Defence has been given access to £800 million in Financial Year 2018-19, which will contribute to the Dreadnought programme. This will enable us take opportunities to drive out cost and risk later in the programme and ensures best value for the taxpayer.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We are interpreting this question as individuals providing direct support to the Dreadnought programme and it excludes sub-contractors and individuals working within the wider nuclear enterprise.</p><p>There are currently 43 employees of the United States Government and US General Dynamics Electric Boat company seconded to the Dreadnought programme and there are 20 UK Government employees working on the Dreadnought programme based in the United States. Employees work on a range of programme elements, such as Nuclear Propulsion and the Common Missile Compartment which support both the US and UK programmes.</p> more like this
