	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/05/2019 answer text <p>All workers, including workers on zero-hour contracts are entitled to receive paid annual leave.</p><p> </p><p>In 2017, the Unpaid Britain report found that 1.8 million workers are missing out on £1.8 billion each year, in unpaid holiday leave.</p><p> </p><p>The Government wants to ensure that all workers, regardless of the hours they work, receive the paid time off they deserve. This is why the Government recently ran the ‘It comes with the job’ advertising campaign encouraging workers to understand their rights and employers to understand their legal obligations. Government has also developed new guidance, available on GOV.UK, to help workers and employers understand holiday pay policy and entitlement. Both the campaign, and the guidance were aimed at atypical workers, which includes workers on zero hours contracts. The latest figures show that only 2.4% of the UK’s workforce are on a zero hours contracts because, for that small proportion, that may be the right contract for them.</p><p> </p><p>In the Review of Modern Working Practices, Matthew Taylor said that banning zero hours contracts altogether “would negatively impact many more people than it helped&quot;. We agree with his assessment and have committed to bring forward legislation to introduce the right to request a more predictable and stable contract for all workers, including those on zero hours contracts. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/11/2018 answer text <p>The Government recognises the hard work of the Munitions workers and is extremely grateful for their input and sacrifices made during both world wars often working in harsh conditions, to ensure that our soldiers were well equipped during the war effort.</p><p> </p><p>There are no plans to introduce a medal for munitions workers who served during the world wars. A commemorative badge is available thanks to the support of the BAE Systems Heritage Department and the efforts of the Munitions Workers Association. This is similar to those badges given to those who worked in the mines during the second world war – the so-called Bevan Boys. This includes the Agency Workers Directive and the Working Time Directive, which have been transposed into UK law. There is therefore no need to replicate them after the UK leaves the EU. We have committed not to roll back workers’ rights and that commitment includes the protections provided for by the Working Time Directive and the Agency Workers Directive. Once agreed they form a legally binding contract of employment. Issue specific guidance on minimising the potential impacts of offshore wind farms on marine life is available from the relevant statutory nature conservation bodies [Natural England, Natural Resources Wales and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee] throughout the planning and development cycles of an offshore wind farm. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/03/2019 answer text <p>Workers on offshore windfarms are entitled to the same protections as UK workers, including National Minimum Wage for all their work on the installation, construction and maintenance of the windfarms regardless of nationality or where they ordinarily work.</p><p> </p><p>Workers on UK registered ships are entitled to National Minimum Wage for all their work on the ship wherever it is located, unless they work entirely outside the UK or are not ordinarily resident in the UK. BEIS and the DfT are working together to increase the scope of National Minimum Wage entitlement from those seafarers in internal waters to those working in the territorial sea, an area that extends up to 12 nautical miles from the mean low-water line.</p><p> </p><p>This Government takes minimum wage enforcement seriously and is committed to ensuring all employers pay their workers correctly. We continue to invest heavily in minimum wage enforcement, increasing the budget to over £26 million for 2018/19, up from £13 million in 2015/16. In addition to following up on every worker complaint received, HMRC undertake proactive investigations and conduct awareness raising activities amongst both employers and workers.
