star this property answer text <p>We have been clear that probation needs to improve and have taken decisive action to end current CRC contracts and develop more robust arrangements to protect the public and tackle re-offending.</p><p> </p><p>We have seen examples of good and innovative work from CRCs. In Cumbria, adapting probation to a rural setting and in London, working with the Mayor’s Office on programmes to rehabilitate offenders involved in knife crime.</p><p> </p><p>I still believe that public, private and voluntary organisations all have a role to play. The reforms we are making are crucial to better integrate the system so that different providers can work more effectively together. We will set out our proposals later this year.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>As at 31 December 2017, the latest published figures, there were 84,373 persons detained in prisons and the HM Prison and Probation Service run Immigration Removal Centre. Of these, 716 were recorded as Albanian nationals. Albanian nationals represent 0.85% of the total prison population.</p><p>Any foreign national who comes to our country and abuses our hospitality by breaking the law should be in no doubt of our determination to deport them. More than 40,000 foreign national offenders have been removed from the UK since 2010, with a record number of over 6,300 removed in 2016/17.</p><p>A Prisoner Transfer Agreement is in place between the UK and the Republic of Albania, and we are working closely with Albanian authorities to speed up and significantly increase transfer rates.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>9 of the 17 Defra Air Quality monitoring sites in London measured an exceedance of EU limits for NO<sub>2</sub> in London during 2014: Camden Kerbside, Haringey Roadside, London Bloomsbury, London Hillingdon, London Marylebone Road, London Westminster, Southwark A2 Old Kent Road and Tower Hamlets Roadside. In addition to the measured exceedances, there were also a number of modelled exceedances of the EU limit for NO<sub>2</sub> in London in 2014.</p><br /><p>None of the 17 Defra Air Quality monitoring sites in London exceeded the EU Target Value for Ozone (O<sub>3</sub>), but 5 of the 17 measured an exceedance of the EU long term objective during 2014: London Haringey, Priory Park South, London Hillingdon, London North Kensington, London Teddington. In addition to the measured exceedances, there were also modelled exceedances of the EU long term objective for O<sub>3</sub> in London in 2014.</p><br /><p>The exact locations of the monitoring sites may be found here: <a href="http://uk-air.defra.gov.uk/networks/find-sites" target="_blank">http://uk-air.defra.gov.uk/networks/find-sites</a></p><br /><p>There were no exceedances of EU limits for PM<sub>10</sub> particles or PM<sub>2.5</sub> particles in London in 2014.</p>
