	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/09/2024 answer text <p>The UK takes the health and wellbeing of Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) personnel extremely seriously while they are training on Operation INTERFLEX, however, it is the responsibility of the AFU to screen all AFU personnel prior to their participation in UK based training.</p><p>Under Operation INTERFLEX, the UK provides AFU personnel with eyewear (spectacles and eye protection) where it is required, to reduce the risk of injury, and to protect the health and safety of those operating on the Defence Estate.</p><p>Eye tests are available for spectacles, as well as a provision for corrective lenses to be fitted to eye protection. All eye healthcare for AFU personnel is provided through a contracted service. Phase one is complete, with all service leavers since December 2018 being automatically issued with a card as part of their discharge process. Phase two extended access to veterans who left service before December 2018. The new digital application and verification service launched at 00:01 on 28 January 2024 allowing pre-2018 veterans to apply for the card.</p><p> </p><p>As of 3 September 2024, 134,830 cards had been dispatched to pre 2018 veterans who had applied. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/09/2024 answer text <p>The below table shows the number of UK Regular personnel stationed in Northern Ireland by Service as at 1 July 2024.</p><p> </p><table><tbody><tr><td><p><strong>Service</strong></p></td><td><p><strong>Total</strong></p></td></tr><tr><td><p>Royal Navy/Royal Marines</p></td><td><p>5</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>Army</p></td><td><p>1,230</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>RAF</p></td><td><p>70</p></td></tr></tbody></table><p> </p><p>The figures provided are based on Service personnel's stationed location and not their location of residence - where personnel work isn't necessarily where they live. Personnel deployed on operations to an area away from their stationed location are shown against their most recent stationed location. The Royal Navy/Royal Marines personnel on sea service are included against the local authority containing the home port of their ship.</p><p>Figures have been rounded to the nearest 10 to prevent inadvertent disclosure. However, numbers ending in &quot;5&quot; have been rounded to the nearest 20 to prevent systematic bias. Figures between 1 and 5 inclusive are rounded to 5 to prevent possible disclosure.
