star this property answer text <p>When it is determined that technical issues affected a test, the outcome is annulled and the candidate is allowed a free resit. It is not possible to change the mark awarded for a test, since the score the candidate would have achieved had they not experienced the technical issue cannot be determined. It would, therefore, be inappropriate to change the outcome, for example from fail to pass, without such evidence. Where an appeal is successful, the only option available is to allow the candidate a further attempt at the relevant skills test.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We use the teacher supply model (TSM) to estimate the optimum number of teacher trainees required to start in any academic year. The TSM models trainees across the primary phase; it does not distinguish between early years, primary specialists and other individual primary courses. A technical description of the TSM is published online at:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/teacher-supply-model-a-technical-description" target="_blank">www.gov.uk/government/publications/teacher-supply-model-a-technical-description</a></p><p>The number of places allocated is not a target and should not be regarded as one. This year, as we do every year, we have over-allocated initial teacher training (ITT) places above the number of required trainees estimated by the TSM. This helps us to ensure we train enough teachers, taking account of the likely level of recruitment in each subject.</p><p>We have published data showing the number of places allocated in each subject. In the meantime, our allocation of an extra £390 million to the least fairly-funded local authorities in the country will make a real difference to those local authorities, such as Warrington, that gain from the proposals.</p><p>According to our indicative figures, Warrington will gain an additional £500,000 in 2015-16.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We received bids for the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund for 3,300 projects from 2,015 academies and have so far made awards to 1,134 academies, including 6 academies in the hon. Member's constituency.</p><p>The criteria used to assess bids were set out in the guidance for the scheme. We assessed each eligible application against these weighted criteria. The guidance can be found at:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/academies-capital-maintenance-fund-round-1-information" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/academies-capital-maintenance-fund-round-1-information </a></p><p>Guidance for the second round of the Fund, which is aimed at academies opened since December 2013, has been published. A new web portal, which is under development, will improve access to 16-18 performance data, including the core demographic information such as special educational needs that is currently available for primary and secondary schools.</p><p>Any pupils not able to access the relevant end of key stage test will continue to have their attainment assessed by teachers, and we will retain P scales for reporting teachers' judgements.</p><p> </p> more like this
